Really?

You mean to say that the birther/teabagger/fundy contingent base their view of reality on opinion rather than evidence?

This is quite unexpected.

Take it easy there Gringo. You speak from the side of the aisle that believes a gestating fetus is a parasite, that there is racism in a bagel, and that Bush perpetrated 9/11

Creation and Creationism are not the same thing. The latter was born in America out of the Fundamentalist movement to attack the Theory of Evolution and the rise of liberalism.

Creationism is at odds with evolution, and isn't based on science.

Hahahaha! OMG. Now just where have you learned this warpped view?

It was the "tree of the knowledge of good and evil", not the "tree of knowledge" as you erroneously assert.

And it is called the "Bible", by the way.

This is only true for those who are content to dismiss the details of abiogenesis.

Adam and Eve ate from the tree of the knowledge of GOOD and EVIL.(Genesis 2:9) You conveniently left the entire description of the tree out - and simply called it the tree of knowledge because you thought you were clever and that no one would call you on the error.

God did not "damn man for all of eternity". He cursed the ground and ensured that man would have to work for the fruits of the soil(Genesis 3:17-19.

He cursed the serpent and made him a lowly animal who was sentenced to crawling on its belly.(Genesis 3:14:14).

He also caused women to "bear children in pain".(Genesis 3:16)

God created men and women to walk in fellowship with him. We have fallen into sin - been separated from Him - and must choose to return to fellowship by accepting Jesus Christ who paid for our sins so we can inherit life and not the wages of sin - which are death.

This is a far cry from being "damned for eternity".

And if God did "not give man the intelligence to exploit science or develop technology" as you claim - then how did the first humans learn how to use fire to make speartips that allowed them to hunt more effectively. They most certianly exploited science and developed technology - and humans have been using our God-given intelligence to do it to this day. Everything we have developed through science - from the use of fire to putting spacecraft like Voyager out into space operates on the principles set forth by God - the author of science and its language - mathematics.
Very excellent post. I could never understand why liberals can't understand this. The simple truth, I suppose, is that they are too arrogant and believe that there is nothing higher than man. Sadly, they will find out one day how wrong they are.

Um, Einstein & his theory of relativity... Newton's law of gravity can't explain Mercury's precession.

The Bible is not a text of mathematics. The value of Pi was determined by the Greeks and was known long before the writing of the Bible.

Again, your knowledge of mathematics and physics is so rudimentary that you lack the tools to understand the reality of the world around you. When one has a cursory knowledge of physics and math, as you do, it is akin to what one of my physics profs said to me and my classmates (yes it is "me" and not "I"): "Your knowledge of the complexities of physics is so basic that it is like asking your dog to understand Chinese. While the dog can understand a few words or inflections in your voice to follow a few rudimentary commands, one is not deluded to beleive that the dog can, in fact, speak Chinese".

If you did understand more complex mathematics and physics, you would understand that there is a structure and statistical probablility of what we consider to be reality to suggest a strucure or intelligent design. Whether one calls this "God" or not is to one's discretion. However, to point out "scientific inaccuracies" in the Bible is to demonstrate a complete misunderstanding of fairly simple issues while presenting "pride" at the "revelation" of the obvious. It is embarassing and should reflect the same degree of "pride" that a toddler achieves when landing his first "doo-doo" in the toilet. Such an "achievement", while magnificent to the toddler, is a mundane and unremarkable accomplishment to the rest of humanity.
