Never understood the need for a hate crime in this case. I mean, two kids pour gas over another and light him on fire? Umm... you don't need the extra charges or delineation to come to the conclusion both should hang for their actions.
I mean, if they just did it for fun and it had no racial connotations, are they saying they would treat it as a "lesser" crime? It is laughable.
1) What kids? Are there suspects?
2) You are right but you need actual suspects for any kind of charge right?
3) So unidentified, non arrested black kids should be hung on the word of a kid who cannot identify them? There is no forensic evidence so just hang random black kids? No eye witnesses either right?
Who is supposed to hang David Duke? Who are the suspects? It's easy to be a racist coward behind the anonymity of this forum but until there is a shred of evidence this actually happened I think the kid is LYING!
In an act of pure hatred and racism, two black teenagers poured gasoline on a fellow teenager, lit him on fire and told him he got what he deserved....because he is white.

You may be correct, my comment wasn't one specific to whether the story was correct or not, merely to point out the absurdity of hate crime laws in the first place.
The story linked is extremely lacking in its information.
Oh, a Black on White attack? Nothing to see here. No one even blinks an eye when Blacks commit a hate crime against Whites. Or Hispanics. Or Asians. It's only when a Black is the victim of a White (or White Hispanic) that the media whips into a fury. We must always be made to feel that Blacks are the ultimate victims in America. If the national media actually started paying attention to all the hate crimes committed by Blacks, then that narrative would fall apart.
Obviously there has been media focus on this or else we wouldn't be talking about it.
The issue is how the this crime and the Trayvon Martin incident were handled by the police. As of now there is no known issues of possible police misconduct in terms of how this case was handled in Kansas City.
