I often wonder if the Randites who support the ideal of "survival of the fittest" ever take into account that the idea of "who makes up the fittest" changes not only with time and technology but also by who is making the determination of what is of value.

Just another way of saying that those who thrive--as opposed to those who merely survive--don't deserve the fruits of their labor.

Since the conservatives seem to get stranger and more extreme with these ideas, why don't they just come out and just say we should sterilize all women and men that have low I.Q's and kill every kid with a learning disability so that they don't cost us anything in the long run. Plus if they're dead, they can't procreate in the future.

that would be uncivilized and a national security threat,
because it would create even more crime and murders
and class warfare against innocent people, especially
children and elderly, than we have ever seen to this day.

Mr. President, exactly it was through the efforts of individuals that allowed for this upward mobility, social darwinism if you will. Certainly the government is needed but not to the degree you and your party want.

Seriously? Or is this for dramatic effect?

Same question posed decades ago when I was freshman in college in a required Humanities class. Answer: So we do not lose respect for human life and end up like Nazis who destroyed those who were considered unfit by the standard of the ruling powers.
