President Obama, during an interview with St. Louis's KMOV, was hammered for "jetting around, [taking] different vacations and so forth, sometimes ... under the color of state business." The interviewer, Larry Conners, suggested even that folks "get frustrated, even angered" seeing the president take these trips, and told Obama that these Americans think he's "out of touch, that [Obama doesn't] really know what they're experiencing right now."
I have no doubt the vile, professional Left will launch one of their smear/pressure campaigns to get the guy fired.

Obama works hard as he golfs, takes vacations to Martha's Vineyards, serves his guests $125/lb steaks, flies his chef hundreds of miles to get a pizza, invites Johnny Depp to his Halloween party, host $40,000 plate specials in his honor, sends his kids to private school where they dine on lobster and filet mignons, etc.
Obama is a man of the people. He relates to us; the 99%. He is down to earth and lives a reasonable lifestyle, unlike that snooty Ann Romney.
I generally agree with you AeroGuyDC but in this case I am sure you know that destressing is important for accurate decision making. I could see where it could be done in a more budget conscious fashion to serve as an example to the remainder of the country. I do not fault any President of the necessity to depart DC to more tranquil surroundings. There is precedent from recent leaders who actually are well regarded. Well, I am thinking of Winston Churchill in particular although that may be not be considered recent by some. He would travel to his estate and paint during the war. Although he was known as having an incredible ability for long and sustained work.
