I do not think we as a species have ever existed in harmony with our surroundings or each other. Existing in harmony with nature is subjective to opinion on how to correctly accomplish it. If anything, it is better now than it ever was in regards to existing with others that are different. The Native Americans were quite combative between tribes. They certainly dominated the weak (tribes) and supported the chiefs who ruled. Of course some worked together as well, but no different than what we as a species have always done. At our core, we are still animals. You can only legislate innate behavior so much.
yeah you know this is all so obviously true i don't even know why i started this thread.
"Hear me people: We now have to deal with another race--- small and feeble when our fathers first met them, but now great and overbearing. Strangely enough they have a mind to till the soil and the love of possessions is a disease with them. These people have made many rules which the rich may break but the poor may not. They take their tithes from the poor and weak to support the rich and those who rule." Chief Sitting Bull

whaddya think about these words?
Historically interesting. Nothing much more. What else would you expect someone from a primitive tribal society to say?
I'm sure it fires up all the liberal guilt centers and makes them feel all warm and fuzzy inside to praise the insight of the noble Native American who fought white oppression.
"Strangely enough they have a mind to till the soil" -- so hey, any Democrat who wants to go back to a pre-agrarian society is free to leave as far as I'm concerned. I'm sure you can find some stone age jungle tribe in the Amazon or some nomad pygmies in the Australian outback who are living in harmony with nature. Good luck and have fun.

They don't like the poor, either.
Don't worry about the comments, OP.
Some people will post because they are afraid that the accusation is true and can't accept it.
We have become a throw away society. Years ago, we took things to be repaired, TV's, radios and even small cars have become throw away items and we are paying the price
