Um, ok. It's ok to spread one religion, but not another?

Italy will be fine. Besides, it's their business anyway. If they permit it, then fine with me.

We have lots of mosques springing up here. If you're so worried about mosques, maybe you need to start at home and let the Italians worry about themselves.

If Italy is anything like the USA the mosques are built long before the immigrant population is there to support them. Follow the oil money back to Saudi Arabia and you'll see who is funding the building of mosques and massadras in the West.

Political Islam is not compatible with the democratic style governments of the West.

Neither is fundamentalist Christianity or Orthodox Judaism. However, the US Constitution offers the same protection to all religions, including the wacko strains.

There's been Arab influence in Sicily since the 8th Century and the Moorish kingdoms. The cuisine (couscous is very common) and place names are all markers of the past history of the island. Many of the churches in Sicily, especially Palermo, were originally mosques. There's cities on the south coast on Sicily that have had large Tunisian populations (just across the Mediterranean) for some time now and even whitewashed historical architecture reminiscent of North Africa. The Sicilian Mafia is used to North African influences at this point. One look at the population of Sicily and you'll can see the bloodline going back to the Arab period.

Unless Muslim immigrants start angling in on the Sicilian Mafia's traditional rackets and turf--or refuse to pay protection--they're not going bother with them. There's more likely to be more conflict in the richer industrial cities of the north and Rome.

Surely the latter. Definitely not the former.
