So we are all against the government restricting what we might say but are completely willing to let the mob punish people for expressing their opinion. Just how much do we value Freedom? Not much, apparently.

IMHO the team should have told the crowd that his opinion is his and it is not appropriate to punish him for a private expression. The team could not do this because it might have cost the owners a bit of loot. The managers are just cowards.
