So, you don't have a problem with corporations manipulating your kids in public schools?
You have more faith in corporatism than I do.
Last year my fifth graders spent a month in science learning how to build a geothermal home and how evil all their parents are for not having a windmill or mirrors on their roof. I told the school what I thought of that nonsense. If you have a problem with your kids learning about how oil has turned the US into the greatest economic power in the history of the world then take it up with your school and stop crying about it.

Not having had kids in the public schools for over 20 years, I just wasn't aware of the inroads corporate money and influence has made in our schools and I thought maybe everyone else hadn't heard of it to.
Sadly, it seems that y'all have and don't care. No wonder we're graduating students who can't think critically.
Oil should be nationalized, it would greatly help with our budget deficit. Compensate land owners with resources on their property reasonably but other than that, natural resources belong to the American people.
Several big energy companies, including BP, Conoco, PG&E and TXU are providing energy curriculum's to public schools, beginning as early as the primary grades.
All I'm saying is that if one accepts the definition of Fascism that Mussolini used (Fascism should more appropriately be called Corporatism because it is a merger of state and corporate power), there's reason to be concerned.

Which is why I'm gonna home school my kids. I don't want them to spent K-12 in a combination of a corporate, left-wing echo chamber all their life while learning nothing.

Lot's of folks seem worried about liberal indoctrinating their kids in college. Maybe you ought to be more concerned with what's going on in public schools.
Oh, sure. It's all fair and balanced...right?
You're hilarious! Maybe you should take your kids out of public school and home school them. We did. They did very well, much better than their public school counterparts.
Sure wouldn't want our kids learning about energy, would we?

It would sure tick off their employers if I took my kids home to school them. They're all 35 or older.
I don't mind my grandkids learning about energy, but I do mind them taking lessons spun by big oil and big electricity. Don't you?
Thank goodness somebody is countering the gibberish that passes for Obama administration energy policy.
Hey, look; this actually began with Jimmy Carter:
About NEED
More than 30 years ago, The NEED Project began as a one-day celebration of energy education when National Energy Education Day was recognized by a Joint Congressional Resolution. In the same year, President Jimmy Carter issued a Presidential Proclamation stressing the need for comprehensive energy education in our schools, a reduction of our dependence of fossil fuels, and increasing use of renewable energy technologies and energy efficiency. Today, NEED’s work continues with the goal of reaching every appropriate classroom in the United States. About NEED | National Energy Education Development Project
