You know, who cares what kids are taught in Tennessee?

If you can cook meth in a Walmart toilet; you aren't stupid!

I like how it can be brought up and discussed and shot down. Nothing wrong with that as long as it doesn't take up much time...which it really can't.

Probably a lot, but with today's atmosphere of "open mindedness" (for those of you who are not democratic leaning, open minded means agree with what they believe) they don't dare publicly admit it.

I for one believe in a combination of creationism and evolution. While it is obvious that things on earth have evolved to meet the circumstances they find themselves in, God still got the ball rolling a long time ago and I believe that God still tweaks things as needed to help things move along. Things don't usually go wrong until man gets involved.

I first get a clue how close-minded someone is when they think god automatically equates to "big, sky-fairy". Great quote, "couldn't evolution be the answer to 'how' and not to 'why?'"

Each step forward for creationism is a step backward for science.

Tennessee law allows creationism theory in classrooms - chicagotribune.com

If its taught as part of being Fiction in English or a look at what different religions believe about how earth was created, then I don't mind (but they should allow that all faith theories of creation be included in the lesson plan).

If trying to be taught as a science, then no, it doesn't belong in school. If people want to be deluded to think some mythical imaginary being created the Earth, that's what Sunday School is for.

No creationist believes that a mythical imaginary being created the earth.

It is God who did it.

God is a made up mythical imaginary being. And many cultures and religions have their own version of creation (most that don't involve imaginary beings doing the job)

If creationism is being taught, then the creation theories from
Hinduism/Buddhism
Hawaiian religion
Japanese
Chinese
Korean
Vietnamese
Samoan

etc

must be taught as well

This is your opinion - one that is not universally shared.

Tennessee will surely be boycotted by professional organizations in the science field looking for places to hold conventions. Oklahoma Republicans are trying to do the same stupid thing.

Yeah - losing those conventions is going to have a REAL big impact on the economies of those states...
