Getting into power now tops getting America healed and moving forward.
Is it IMPOSSIBLE to take pure partisanship out of the mix and put bi partisanship in............ what do you think?
No! it's not impossible, however if people buy into the demagoguery it will be difficult. The Ryan plan is a perfect example of this. The Dems simply want to lie about it to crush it. They deny a problem even exists. The Republicans are afraid to embrace it because they fear the Dem attacks will have traction.

There are lots of laws passed during every session of Congress. Not all of them are front page news.

When an "idea" threatens to shake the very foundation of our republic, then yeah, there's going to be some heated debate.

This is the attitude that stops progress.............. Why vote in a Govt.?
Are you suggesting that instead of the Govt. making the decissions we vote them in to do and run the Country that we have some kind of continual citizen vote for all aspects of our lives and everything that we do?............ That could never never never Work........ We'd be running around like headless chickens........... The Govt. is in place to make decissions on our behalf for our benefit......... some will agree and some will disagree that's life.

The Ryan plan cannot work........ It is using austerity measures that have now been used in many Industrialised nations and their recovery is even slower than in the USA and the lower paid and poorer citizens are the ones who make all of the sacrifices. Obama's plan to increase the tax on the rich on its own will only have a limited effect on revenue so we must look at both plans and get a workable middle ground as both plans on their own will not work.

Unfortunately here there are 'heated debates" even on good ideas that would benefit America....... Apparently the only good ideas here are ideas that can be used by either party to destroy the other party.

Regardless of your opinion of its merit. What you will notice is the Dems claim it will kill old people, starve children, etc. it is this type of demagoguery that prevents serious discussion of big problems.

As an aside, Germany introduced austerity, and their economy is booming.

So republicans don't lie about democratic policies? I can atleast admit democrats do, but don't act like your side has a halo above their head.

The debt ceiling debacle is a good example of how the Republican Congress caused S&P to downgrade the USA...... S&P said that the uncertainty caused by Congress was their reason for the downgrade.... it was absolutely unnecessary, Congress got its lowest approval ratings because of it and it was completely partisanship gone crazy.

I am not sure where I suggested that, please point it out to me. I merely used Ryan as an example. It is this type of tit for tat that hinders serious discussion of he big problems we face.
