Those who want the real deal on what is going on with Afghanistan should read this link. Some people always think that cynicism equals knowledge, but in the case of Afghanistan they're wrong. The situation there is better than you may think.

They talk of 'victory' and accomplishing 'our goals', I'd like to know just WHAT those things are these days and WHY they're worth any more American blood and $$$?

Stable isn't much of a "victory" after 10 years.

I would remind readers that Afghanistan was "stable" under the Taliban.

"Stable" could mean free to conduct their internal affairs as they please without external control by the West or big Oil. That would not be acceptable to either.

Afghanistan is what it is and has pretty much always been. Half the country is run by warlords and that's not going to change. The rest will have some minor stability with the constant threat of violence.

I'm not a subscriber but hopefully it is good news. Many thought a stable Iraq was beyond comprehension.

Haha yeah Iraq is REAL stable there genius. I'm sure if we plowed enough money in Somalia, took over their agriculture, oil, bombed them back into the stone age and used western private companies to rebuild the infrastructure and leave our military there for the next 50 years it would be as stable as Japan and errr Iraq.......LOL.

Shouldn't you be out asking your city council to build you a tornado shelter?? LOL

Na you would rather have sadaam trading oil in euros and the rest jumping ship too as our economy plunges off the cliff.

I have been hearing about how great this policy of winning hearts and minds is for years now, if not a decade.
