This problem of police violently entering the wrong polace and killing the innocent occupants has happend in New Hampshire as well. I believe it is caused by poor investigations and worse police training. civillian police are not infrantry and they are not at war.

That's a delightful platitude, but it is unrealistic - nothing is perfect.

In counter, when a citizen shoots and murders a police officer who is acting legally, but the citizen "thinks" the officer is acting illegally - I will tell you that's "one too many," and you will have to accept my argument.

You've been watching too many movies.

Now I believe cops these days have way too much power or over assert themselves (like no filming cops from bystanders...completely asinine).

However, this law goes way too far. If anything they should offer inroads for private citizens to recoupe losses, press charges, etc...

But fighting back? Someone will die from this law...

Part of the problem is that when the cops screw up and bust down the wrong door and shoot your dog you have no recourse. They don't even fix your door.

Here is an interesting site that tracks these out of control SWAT teams.

The SCOTUS has already upheld this ancient common law right of citizens in such cases as the John Bad Elk case. The Indiana Supreme Court ignored the precedents and attempted to strip the citizens there of this right. It's a right best exercised only under extreme circumstances (i.e., when cops are murdering, etc.), but it's a necessary one. It seems to me not a week goes by that there isn't an example of brutal atrocities committed by cops posted on this forum, and how many more go unreported, because the murdered victims couldn't speak and there were no witnesses or recordings?

What do you mean you don't have any recourse?

They don't even fix your door?
