All I see is parroting from Beck, (he would be proud)
Though please, stay on topic which is, is the right wing machine programming the easily misled right with simple "catch" phrases to appeal to their remedial minds.
One thing I've noticed in the past few years are the uprising of many "catch" words like the "marxist/communist/socialist" thrown around by those on the right to describe anyone they disagree with, seemingly to replace the classic "liberal"
Beck seems (or use to be before he got fired at fox) to be the leader in spreading these simple catch phrases to the masses. By using these "scary" sounding words, it seems to rile up these followers to bring out even more hatred, hostility, and even in some cases violence against others that also do not completely agree with their strong right views.
It's be debunked beyond belief that for example their favorite target Obama is no where near being any of those catch phrases, but the right still believes them.
Well, at least we have established that Marxism and communism are indeed scary; we have tens of millions of dead communist citizens to prove how scary those words are.
Is Obama a card carrying Communist? Probably not. Is he a radical leftist socialist leaning authoritarian? You bet he is.
Here are the 10 planks of the Communist Manifesto:
1.Abolition of property in land and application of all rents of land to public purposes.
Has the EPA greatly expanded in funding and influence under Obama? Yep. Has it made all sorts of new regulations on how land is used? Yep.
2.A heavy progressive or graduated income tax.
Millionaires and billionaires need to pay their fair share.
3.Abolition of all right of inheritance.
Let's bring back the death tax.
4.Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels.
National Defense Resources Preparedness. National Defense Authorization Act.
5.Centralisation of credit in the hands of the State, by means of a national bank with State capital and an exclusive monopoly.
Has the Federal Reserve run amok? Yep. Has the government taken over student loans and mortgages and is it making government backed loans to favored businesses? Yep.
6.Centralisation of the means of communication and transport in the hands of the State.
Did Obama want to be able to control the internet in an "emergency"? Yep. Does his FCC want to interfere with conservative talk radio? Yep. Has the price of fuel gone way up and stayed high throughout his administration? Yep Has Obama proposed mass transit programs multiple times? Yep
7.Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the State; the bringing into cultivation of waste-lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan.
Two words: Green Jobs.
8.Equal liability of all to labour. Establishment of industrial armies, especially for agriculture.
Obama proposed a new conservation corps, proposed a national civilian security force, and proposed doubling or quadrupling the Peace Corps.
9.Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries; gradual abolition of the distinction between town and country, by a more equitable distribution of the population over the country.
Obama's Executive order 13547 urging sustainable development.
10.Free education for all children in public schools. Abolition of children's factory labour in its present form and combination of education with industrial production.
He says he wants to increase funding for public education in speech after speech after speech.
Well...nice try, but the part you're leaving out is that the essence of communism is that the means of production is owned by the state. That means no private ownership AT ALL--no private business, no private home ownership, etc. I appreciate your creativity in trying to apply some situations to the communist manifesto, but you're trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. Before you try to call me a communist for knowing a little about this, I graduated from a very good university with a political science degree, and learning about world economic and political systems is part of the process. The US has a mixed economy, which means a strongly market oriented economy (private ownership/capitalism) with regulatory oversight by the state. We've always had this system. Government regulation of private industry isn't communism.
I don't believe the Communist party endorsed Obama. What "associations" do you refer?
Each one of the people I just mentioned after his post actually represents an organization-some in his own administration.
Bill Ayres was a founding member of The Weather Underground! It's a domestic terrotist group that bombed the Pentagon in case you don't know this.
Van Jones has ties to-is the leader to The Color of Change, moveon.org, and the Annenberg Group.
The other folks mentioned are in his cabinet.
Look this up!!!
Ray LaHood openly confesses to being a socialist.
