How about all the blacks, whites an other non-hispanics who lost their lives during World War I,II and Vietnam? Some Americans join for patriotic reasons some do not but regardless it has nothing to do with the concept of assimilation.

Yes, and we are all equal under the eyes of the law. Therefore we should all equally pay for our own lawbreaking. If I steal I go to jail. If one breaks our immigration laws they get deported. Comprende?

So he only wants to worship his God in church. On the outside he is breaking the law if he is working in the fields or anywhere else illegally. Your point is? Priests aren't authorized to ask for anyone's papers. Your point again is?

Actually my husband was invited to smoke a new pipe just a couple of months ago. (No peyote mushrooms though. I know you're disappointed.) He considered it a tremendous honor and the sign of some very old friendships.

I would say that God would want all lawbreakers to pay the consquences for their actions according to our laws regardless of whether they be Hispanic or not. In the case of illegal immigration our laws dictate deportation as the consequences for illegal entry. Why do I smell the distinct but foul smell of the race card in the air?
Just wow. Isn't it their own land (a reservation) to decide that they want to put up a casino? Unless you are alluding to some sort of gambling addiction at said casinos, you have issues in alluding that only Whites are the ones supporting our society.

It may be their own land I'll give you that...BUT if the rest of the citizenry was allowed to build casinos to compete then we would have a situation more on equal footing.
Not that I would want that as I feel that state lotteries along with the indian casinos have helped greatly in the ruination of my once great state. Statistics have proven that when an indian casino goes in, the nearby community suffers. There is more crime, and more homelessness and more addicts created. Yes, I know several individuals who have been lulled by the casinos false promises...and the responsibility cannot solely be laid at their feet. Casinos breed addiction and they should shoulder some of the social responsibility for the outcomes that happen naturally when they open a casino.
As for the "crass comments"....I don't support any demographic that recieves special rules of their own while the rest have to abide by the laws in place. I also don't support extra goodies and handouts while the rest of the public has to make do.

One of the Medal of Honor winners (it makes me weep just thinking about how brave you have to be to win that) lied and said he was born in Texas. This was during WWII.
Know any WWII vets? You might want to ask one how closely they were checking these things after Pearl Harbor.

They are TERRIBLE at assimilation. They're insular. They've kept their language, customs and religion while living in this country for well over 200 years.
