And if the check wasnt enough of a slap in the face , the $480 fine from the state of Massachusetts for not having HI was the icing on the cake.

Actually, I'm having a very good day--but that's because it happens to be my birthday On a more ironic note, Benjamin Franklin, who said "Nothing is certain but death and taxes" died on this day in 1790. Tax day. Just a random useless fact for the day.

Now, off to my party.

the heftiest wasted checks are cashed by the department of defense... which the last I checked it was the right wingers who loved to spend there.

I would hate to be thought ungracious, so first, let me thank you for your good wishes. In turn, I hope you will allow me to express my heartfelt congratulations to you and your fellow right-wing-posters on what appears to be Strawman Argument Day. (How many of those do you have in a year, anyway? Seems like a lot.)

Does this mean you are not going to pay yours? If not, then blessings upon you as well.

Liberty and freedom are never free. To keep them requires paying for them.

You should change the title to "Happy Tax Day"...period!

I don't see the point in calling liberals, conservatives, or anyone specific group out. I can't name 1 president in my 30+ years of living that has did the appropriate thing in regards to taxes. Rich, poor or middle class, the amount of taxes levied on everyone is unconscionable. Herman Cain got at least one thing right when he said 9%. I've got to work 100+ days, or 1 season (summer, winter, spring or fall) just to pay my tax obligations so they can fund something that I don't agree with (whatever that may be).

Unreal. For everyone.

The money that the poor people DONT get such as negative income tax (EIC), which they usually immediatley blow, would not be given to them.

The services that the taxes pay for, would put millions of people out of work. Most of these people are middle class people who put a majority of their income back in the economy. When their demand disapears, it will put millions more out of work.

Any tax savings that businesses get, will be given back to share holders or raises for management (both already wealthy), not used to hire more workers.
Typical liberal already has plans in place for how folks spend their own money. You of course could spend it wiser right?
