How can anyone logically argue for the rich to "pay their fair share" of federal income taxes when in fact 47% of American's pay ZERO federal income taxes?
Yes, most people pay payroll taxes (Social Security, Medicare, etc). Those monies go to fund specific priorities, so there's no need for the obtuse to come forth and deflect. We're talking Federal INCOME taxes.....the money that goes to fund the public goods and services that we American's consume.
How is it "FAIR" that millions of a American's pay ZERO in light of the current class warfare schtick being pushed by the Left?

I know people that only make 18,000 per year; they still have to pay federal income tax!
People that are paid minimum wage must pay federal income tax!
Quit believing that 47% don't pay any. EVERYONE that works must pay; If you don't work or earn under a certain amount per year - there is no federal

He said that the lower income demographic get the vast majority of services provided by taxpayers, which does not necessarily mean "sitting on their a$$es eating Cheetohs instead of going out and earning a living instead." Working households are very much apart of that demographic.

It's not important considering those funds go to specific priorities. What part of that did you not understand?
The part where you ignore all the other aspects of the Federal Government's operations.
Basically, as long as we have regressive monetary policy, we need to have progressive tax policy. Furthermore, what some are arguing is that our tax policy isn't all that progressive in the first place. I would agree.

So you're saying that lower income people should have no skin in the game? After payroll taxes, they should get a free ride for the rest of America's bounty?
The claim that only rich people pay taxes is a zombie lie — something that keeps coming back no matter how many times it’s killed by evidence. Low income earners have "skin in the game."

The overall system is barely progressive at all. For all those championing the Flat-Tax -- WE ALREADY HAVE IT! Everyone roughly pays taxes in proportion to their earnings.
The people peddling this stuff about those who don’t pay tax because their incomes are low know all this, because it has been pointed out many times. These people are deliberately trying to deceive the public for their own self-serving motives -- they want the poor to pay more so the affluent pay less.
I believe the bottom 90% should be exempt from Federal Income Tax and the Social Security Tax be applied to all income, including Capital Gains, from all sources. This should apply to the Income Tax as well.
This way the people that own Congress and control the government would have to pay their fair share of maintaining their property. The rest of us would enjoy a 10 to 33% raise in spendable or saving income. It rich will complain but even after paying their fair share they will have enough to indulge in any debauchery, including stock speculation, they please.
