"In his opening speech on Wednesday, Reid called on the Senate to quickly move forward on the passage of S. 1789, the 21st Century Postal Service Act,..."
“Madam President,” Reid said to Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.), the presiding officer of the Senate, “I’ll come home tonight here to my home in Washington and there’ll be some mail there. A lot of it is what some people refer to as junk mail, but for the people who are sending that mail, it’s very important.” “And when talking about seniors, seniors love getting junk mail. It’s sometimes their only way of communicating or feeling like they’re part of the real world,” Reid continued."
How old is Harry now anyway? Cause he seems to be losing what little mind he had. Junk Mail as a Senior's only connection to the real world? I don't know what exactly is in this Postal Service Act, he's trying to rush through but if he has to use this bizarre line of defense, it probably involves more tax payer waste.
He's right. It's not "junk" to those who send it, but a carefully considered business decision which pays off or they wouldn't be doing it. They don't just send it out for the helluvit. That's not too hard to understand, is it?
And, "junk" mail is what keeps the Post Office open.
The best way to end junk mail is to take out the return envelope and return it with nothing included but maybe the unfilled out page they contain. Who has to pay the cost of that stuff. Well now it would be the recipient in that case.
Whats really amazing is ho hard it is to get them from sending the junk mail, even after you've asked for it to stop.
My FIL passed away 4 years ago, and we are STILL getting junk mail addressed to him.
Open it up, insert the junk in the return envelope and send it back without postage.
First of all, the USPS is not supported by taxpayer's dollars and it never was. The GOP has sabotaged the USPS with insane legislation in order to privatize it for their corporate cronies. Junk mail is not the issue in the central scheme of things.
You always seem to make it a habbit to be wrong.
1) The USPS does receive taxpayers dollars, but not as a subsidy, its to compensate for federally mandated discounted shipping costs for things like libraries and the blind
2) The sabotaging taking place at the USPS, was because the employees were moved from the federal payroll, but the pensions funds, which were previously paid to the taxpayers, were "stolen" by the federal government leaving the post office to makeup the difference.
3) The USPS isnt privatized, and the corporate cronies argument is bs because if they were protecting corporations, then they would oppose privatization because its the legislation requiring these discounts, and any such privating would limit any discounts.
Open it up, insert the junk in the return envelope and send it back without postage.

The ones that want $ are the worst.
Just write return to sender on it and send it back. It costs them money to receive it back, so they remove your name from any future mailings because they dont want to pay to get it again.
I have an idea.......lets all forward all our junk mail to Harry.
I love your comments
