What kind of proof would you find acceptable? Does passing one of the most intensive background checks know to man cut it for you?

One of those.

Do you support a person's individual right to conceal carry a firearm for personal defense. I'm not talking about any particular legal case concerning concealed carry, I'm not talking about any specific state or city which might allow or deny the concealed carry of a firearm.

This assumes that people are following all the reasonable laws of their concealed carry permit (if needed) and they are legally capable of holding that permit (no felony record or whatever that state says).

I support anyones right to carry openly or ccw without any goverment permission at all unless they are in jail/prison or under parole from jail/prison.

A background check doesn't protect against someone's future irrational behavior.

Nothing can rule out a person going bad with a gun. Like a previous poster said, that is what keeps the controversy alive.

I'm not against CC per se, I just know it wont ever be without innocent death and controversy.

What's the difference, in what you are saying....about a car.....and a gun?

A gun does not kill people....but yet nothing can rule out a person going bad with a car.

Guns are made specifically for when you (feel the) need to harm someone.

True. But you can't voluntarily kill a particular person anytime, any place with a car. So while a person can certainly do a lot of harm with their car, it's apt to be unintentional. Not the same story for guns.

I'm "pro-gun" as the definition is implied on this thread. But it's not as simple a topic as people want to think.

Interesting reading and it later on refutes using the Swiss model to compare with U.S. policy of gun ownership for purposes of either stricter gun control or less prohibitive laws.

Very interesting stuff indeed.

Guns are made specifically to harm "something" when you feel the need? How and why is that even possible?

Who voluntarily kills anyone? Remember we are talking about a concealed LEGAL permit....

So, you say it is unintentional, but what about the older person who runs though the crowd of people?
