In the future brothels will serve-up robot prostitutes offering clean, guilt-free sex, say researchers.
The prediction was made in a research paper examining what the sex industry will be like in the year 2050.
Ian Yeoman and Michelle Mars of the Victoria Management School in Wellington, New Zealand, wrote about an imaginary brothel in Amsterdam's red-light district called Yub-Yum

It'd be a woman's dream. Being able to keep going until you are ready to stop.

I don't see anything wrong with it.

Solves a lot of social problems.

I just hope they sterilize those robots often.

Unlikely, as non-biological intelligence approaches human level intelligence, it's likely robots will be granted fundamental rights -- one of which is not to be created for the sole purpose of sexual slavery. Expect this to be a hot-button issue in the 2020's much like gay rights is today.

A more likely scenario, by 2020 every known STD will be genetically sequenced and cured (or at least vaccinated against). Also, contraception will have advanced to the point where a woman can control her reproductive cycle from her smartphone (or 2020 equivalent of a smart phone). Both the biological cost (read: STD, unwanted pregnacy) and social stigma of prostitution will have dropped to the point that prostitution is no longer a crime, or one that isn't enforced in most states. You may have few backward Bible Belt states that enforce it but everywhere else will have moved on. Also, with declining transportation costs and open borders, it will likely make sexual tourism a large (no pun intended) industry in many countries (read Brazil, Germany, etc.)

Also, creating a robotic prostitute will be expensive, whereas creating a human wh*re simply requires a six-pack, an unwillingness to wear a condom, and lousy parents. It's supply vs demand in an automated, globalized economy. Also, automation will likely drive many women out of secretary/ministerial roles and into the "carnal trades." Good ol' flesh and blood humans will be the prostitutes for the foreseeable future

So many "Futurama" references.
"Don't date robots!"
"Are you a robosexual?"
