The price consumers are being charged is supposed to be the profit maximizing price. If a company raises prices, it reduces profit. If a company can raise its prices by 5% why don't all companies do that right now? It's extra profit for nothing after all. Companies charge what the market will pay, that price has nothing to do with the cost of operating the company itself.
Wow. Companies charge what the market justifies. That justified price is based on the profit that can be made.
Are you seriously suggesting that overhead does not affect prices?
There are now more loopholes and tax rebates for the rich than ever..
Eliminate the corporate/business taxes altogether along with the loopholes putting every business on the same playing field. Taxes for individuals is another topic.

Where the topic of taxes is concerned they have already done it. Every time you purchase something you are paying that tax unless they have a loophole.
It certainly would but you put in place a national sales tax to make up that difference, the primary reason I suggest this is because the consumer now sees the tax as a tax.
No, it would probably go to the CEOs. Depending on where that CEO spends their money at, it could be that this money go to a foreign bank or country.
No. Not any more than it already does. Drop overhead on everyone and you still have the same amount of relative competition. Prices are capped by competition.

National sales tax is regressive. Corporate tax isn't. So how would that be an improvement?
