keep taxes at same level as they are now, pay off the debt with the money saved by all the firing.
cut all programs by 50% as well, take the savings from that and pay down the debt.
That's a lot of military looking for a job, heh. Guess we can add them to the unemployed. Members of Congress make $162,100. Yah. $32,400 ain't bad for government work. Obama would be making a whopping 80 grand.
As our private sector has failed to maintain our working and middle class prosperity we should increase government spending to make up the difference. I would like to see out War Department, and the associated overseas involvements, cut and the money spent on infrastructure but I do not want the over all spending cut. If anything it should be increased along with highly increased taxation on the top 10%. Cutting spending would be a complete economic disaster.
Do you follow this methodology personally?
I believe it could end you up in trouble with credit card companies.
Though she's speaking of the current French elections, this lady might as well have been talking about us when she said:
"The situation is so catastrophic that whoever wins it won't make much difference. The French want change but only on the condition that it doesn't change anything for them."
If that doesn't summarize our own upcoming election, what does? Everybody wants to control government spending, reduce the deficit and the debt...but only out of someone else's government check or the services it provides.
How many are serious enough to take a cut in what YOU rely on, like your Social Security check, or VA disability check, or the highways you take to work or the student aid which keeps your kids in college? Are you willing for you and your family to feel the pain too, or should everyone else feel it while your share of the pie remains unchanged?
Bingo!! The philosophy is "Not In My Back Yard".
