Are Americans in thinking of more “respectable” by owning a gun?
Are Americans scared?
Scared is an understatement. Americans are at their wits' end with paranoia.

This post reeks of masculinity issues.

Guns=manliness
anti-guns=contra manliness

And this post here, more so than the others on this thread, gives us a glimpse into the psychology behind the phenomena of record gun sales. It has been known for a very long time by thinkers and researchers of race and racism, that White masculinity is threatened by Black masculinity. In other words white guys feel that black guys are more masculine than they are.

With the election of Barack Obama as the most powerful man in the world, white masculinity has become even more insecure than it already was. Hence the use of guns in order to assuage their insecurity.

Blah, blah, blah...

There's 400 hundred years of history as well as more than a century's worth of thought and research to support what I've written. What do you have to support your position, besides your own delusions.

Those who study, research and think about race and racism in the US already view what I have written as common knowledge. Among those of that academic circle this is a non controversial issue.

Guns and ammo are holding/increasing in value better than the US dollar and some quality firearms are appreciating better than some moderate growth stocks.

Seriously, put down the crack pipe. Liberal academics hate firearms and the freedom from a large central government they represent.

This firearms owning gal cares nothing about race nor testosterone.

Riots, especially the Los Angeles one where they interviewed lots of black people on TV and they talked about HATING whites and wanting to kill everyone.

IMO that scared the hell out of people in the suburbs and they went out in mass, trained themselves to shoot and bought guns. For a fact you can point to that time as to when firearms skyrocketed.
Non-blacks and especially whites had no idea blacks harbored such hatred and that made people realize they might not be safe. They had no such ill will toward blacks and these interviews cause most of non-black America off guard for sure.

Now the suburbs might be the safest place in America.
Anyone coming to a suburb to riot, hurt people or to damage property should own some good life insurace. Chances are they can't get away with anything there anymore.

I think estimates for illegal guns in the UK range from around half a million to a million.

Whilst guns are enjoyed in a sporting capacity and as a work tool for farmers and gamekeepers, there use as a means of protection is prohibited in the UK.

Indeed there is a zero tolerance when it comes to carrying guns, and the police response reflects this.

Oh heavens, scared of going hungry perhaps. Food prices have risen sharply, they just keep going up and up. A lot of us have to hunt in order to keep food on the table.
