I completely agree. Every time there is bad behavior by any person of a profession...everyone of that profession across the country should be rounded up and jailed. They bear collective responsibility for anyone who works in a similar position or job title no matter of their personal actions in the entire country.

Yep, and then eventually we'll be left with a few babies, students, and the elderly.
I have 1 anecdotal example out of thousands of hard working professionals.
Kill them ALL!!!
Once in my life, just once, I'd like to see someone on this board post a thread about a good teacher. But the usual teacher haters here would never go for it. At least I can hope, right? (sigh)
That said what the teacher did was unconscionable.
Just a fun fact for you all, in the past 10 years only 47 of New Jersey's 100,000 teachers have been fired. Forty-seven! What other profession has a termination rate of 0.05%?

Hey, they collectively bargain for all the sh*tty teachers to get REWARDED for their horrible work along with the herd.....let's be consistent!!
Thanks for doing nothing but pointing out the double standard that is EXACTLY the problem!

Hey don't point out facts....they have no place in this thread. The teachers unions needs to stay one big homogeneous, unforgiving blob of inefficiency because it's unfair to some people...
Yep, they are a group of turds. They wanted no responsibility to perform, so they killed no child left behind. Should have instead killed the teachers union and tenure.
The no child left behind act doesn't work. It causes teachers to teach for the sake of some standardized test rather than for the sake of learning. And not every child can learn the same things in the same amount of time. But the teacher and schools are penalized because this law assumes they can. You can't lump all children together. They are individuals that learn at their own pace. And you can't blame teachers for that. It was always a flawed law.

I agree that standardized testing is evil. It drains all the creative juices out of a child at an early age. I also think it's bad that teachers are handcuffed by the boards curriculum, BUT, I cannot possibly fathom some of these teachers in place now having that much liberty to roam....it actually makes me shiver.
They can't even handle the cookie cutter approach now let alone expecting them to use their brains when lesson planning.
Negated??? No
Tenure definetly needs to be addressed.
Also the pay structure and bargaining...There is no way an art teacher should be making the same pay as a math teacher of equal tenure.
