I find these two questions to be highly entertaining, as well as accurate. It's striking how frequently those two descriptions go together with today's Obama administration.

One speaks of improvements to the Democrat party, and the other speaks of improvements to its image. And the questions are placed as though there were no difference between the two.

And in today's Obama administration, there IS no difference. Their image is everything. They lie, deflect, smear, and lie some more. Truth is completely irrelevant to these people. What they can fool people into believing, is their ONLY concern... in a nation rife with problems screaming for attention.

Notice how much trouble they are having in the Supreme Court, arguing everything from Obamacare to their lawsuit against a state who dared to enforce the very laws the Obamanites themselves have made. They rotely present the talking points, diversions, and doublethink they have used to get votes and pass bills while the public isn't paying much attention, only to have the Supreme Court justices (who ARE paying attention) see right through them, poke holes in them, ask pointed questions they have no answers for, and literally laugh in their faces.

The Democrat party lives solely by the (falsified) image they have tried to create in American voters' minds. That, to them, IS the party. The fact that the image so often fails to jive with reality, is an unimportant detail they feel safe in ignoring.

Improving their image, IS an improvement to the party itself... in these people's warped, self-serving minds.

I don't think the Obama Administration can even be properly judged due to all the treasonous fillibustering the Repugs have done.

Yep, the screwiness of the present Obama administration is unquestionably the fault of Republicans.

I never thought otherwise......

I'm trying to figure why the republicans wanted to rid themselves of moderates( not be confused with the RINOS). Now I'm even more confused why the democrats want to purge their ranks of blue dog democrats. Both parties would happily see any of the other party lose no matter if they shared a certain common ground on issues or not. It seems both parties want only lock step 100% support on all issues and would rather lose a seat than tolerate one of their own being independant and free thinking.
The 17th congressional district in pa is an example. Tim Holden was a blue dog democrat. I had voted for him in the past until he had his district gerrymandered and was moved. he wa smoved around again. He always survived even in a district that wa smade to be more conservative and actually bucked national trends when he was only one of a few democrats to be re elected when others were losing their seats. He'd be called a liberal by the republicans but still took 60% of the vote. He served his constituents and got federal money for projects. He was jusat middle of the road so the party bosses didn't like him but the voters did.
Now the dopey voters in the redrawn district chose not to support him in the primary instead going for a more liberal candidate , a guy named cartwright. Holden had seniority and held some important key committee posts. Now thats gone and Pa will suffer for it. Like I said, the voters were dopey. Fringe candidates don't do well in Pa outside of the major urban areas of Philly and Pittsburgh. The candidates and the issues take front seat before the party every place else. We'll see what happens.

How does that differ from the Republican Party?

Both political parties "lie, deflect, smear, and lie some more." The truth is irrelevant to a politician. The only thing that matters to ANY politician is improving their image, which never "jives with reality," so they can win the next election.

It seems to me, it is only getting worse and worse, as the corruption comes out in the open and the masks are pulled off.
After severe spankings in 2006 and 2008, what have Republicans improved on? Nothing. About all they've done is capitalize on the ineffectiveness of the Dems.

Expecting these guys to improve on their image is silly. When has that ever happened?
