Sure. According to progressives, the only reason that conservatives oppose Obama is due to his skin color. The inverse would have to be true in a case like this. Or the entire arguement goes out the window as one more blatent, hypocrytical attempt to make everything about race.
Progressives would least of Allen West's concerns to get on the Republican ticket. Heck even you said you cannot support him, but it is blasphemy of the progressives if they don't? Talk about being a hypocrite. If even you can't handle that nutcase, don't expect progressives to support him just because he is black. If anything, this presents your mindset.

Clearly, the problem is not Obama but the perception of his that people keep parroting without thinking twice about it. It comes naturally to some, as an obligation to others and as a necessity to the rest.
Nothing wrong with Obama being black, it is his radical socialist big government , green agenda and lack of ability to run the country with a big deficit and his big spending ideas such as algae to run a car.

Do you actually know any liberals? I have no idea what Obama's personal ideology is, but his policies are certainly not liberal...he is center left. Examples of Liberals are Kucinich and Bernie Sanders.
Will progressives be ready to support Allen West, should he run in 2016? Lots of conservatives are more than ready to support him, recognize his as intelligent, articulate (unlike both Bush II and UmUmUmbomma) and someone that can provide leadership and earn respect.

Great--then tell your friends in extremist land to stop ranting about birthers, how Obama is only half black, affirmative action, Kenya, etc. etc. and maybe someone will actually BELIEVE what you're saying.
