You believe that US aid to Israel is wasted; I think that it adds up to support for a staunch ally of the United States, and one whose continued existence demonstrates our commitment to our friends and to the international rule of law.

Keep in mind, though, that no amount of colorful metaphors can disguise the fact that Israel's neighbors (with the exception of Egypt) are motivated by genocidal religious and racial hatred. This has been demonstrated frequently over the past six decades. That hatred --- whether it is directed at Israel or anyone else -- must be confronted by ALL nations which believe in basic human rights. The US should be proud to be counted among that number.
As I asked before but wasn't answered, WHAT does the United States get for its support of Israel? Give me a few tangibles, not just colorful claims. Well done is always better than well said.

As to my thinking aid to Israel is wasted, I actually think it is illegal because the United States is not allowed to give foreign aid to nuclear powers who have not signed the Non Proliferation Treaty.

Want to see some of the "motivated by genocidal religious and racial hatred. This has been demonstrated frequently over the past six decades" I can show you and yes I already know of the Islamic hatred and violence but those nations are not our ally, Israel is.

Nice lil Israeli Children signing American made bombs to be dropped on the civilian population in the Gaza. Our ally instilling love for the next generation.

Would you like to see Israeli soldiers using children as human shields during a raid, instilling more love upon yet another civilian population? I expect this sort of thing out of radical Islamic extremist, but not our ally, the 51st state of Israel

Egypt is a third world nation of over 40 million. Israel is a first world nation of around 5 million.

Yes. When you consider that Israel is responsible for grave warcrimes in the West Bank and an illegal occupation which the U.N can do nothing about as the U.S' master, Israel, tells them to veto anything critical of Israel.

There will never be peace in Palestine as long as the uneducated masses of Palestinians are drawn to terrorism when they see Israel steal more and more land and create more and more illegal settlements in the West Bank as well as inflict terrorism on their population... You expect these uneducated masses to want peace? Laughable.

Funny, considering Israel is in violation of so many international treaties and declarations because of their illegal occupation and annexation (ie: stealing) of land in the West Bank for more lebensraum in hope of creating Großisrael.

Here is a response to your question:

#1:

By YAHYA BARZANJI, Associated Press WriterThu Sep 20, 11:26 AM ET

An Iranian officer accused of smuggling powerful roadside bombs into Iraq was arrested Thursday in northern Iraq, the U.S. military said.

The arrest could add to tensions between Washington and Tehran already strained by the detention of each other's citizens as well as U.S. accusations of Iranian involvement in Iraq's violence and Iran's disputed nuclear program.

That was a literal translation of Ahmadnejad's speech using an American idiom for which there's no equivalent in Persian. He wants regime change in Israel which is the same position that the US and Israel has held towards Iran since their revolution. In order to reach a peace between the three parties, all sides will have to drop this position. US has been unwilling to do so despite Iran having offered to drop support for the Hamas and Hezbollah.

What do we get? For one thing, a smarter intelligence service than our own to confound our enemies.

WHO hides behind civilians, aside from Hezbollah?

Cherry pick more anti-Isareli hate. It's good for your already toasty karma.

Your point? Other than that Israel is outnumbered?

Yes. When you consider that Israel is responsible for grave warcrimes in the West Bank and an illegal occupation which the U.N can do nothing about as the U.S' master, Israel, tells them to veto anything critical of Israel.

Please. Have more respect for us than to post such nonsense.

Israel "steals" nothing. And the arab countries which surround her have done their best to keep their Palestinian "brothers" uneducated and filled with hatred.

You mean like the declaration of Zionism as Racism? It was hateful and absurd. Israel and America gave it the respect it deserved. And returning Gaza to the rabble there was "expansion"? Explain.

Hezbollah is not our ally and nor do I "hate" Israel. Because I don't agree with the US foreign policy towards Israel, I am labeled a "hater" but go on you can say what you really mean, you mean anti-Semite right? Don't be afraid to worry my toasty Karma further, I have been called worse by better people.

For years I have listened to people scream anti-Semite or anti-Israel every time someone disagrees with giving this small nation cart blanc. I can point out the great many conservative Jewish organizations that are opposed to Israel's policies but that would once again fall upon deaf ears because it is just easier to label someone, "anti-Israel". I now so much better understand the author and holocaust survivor, Israel Shahak when he told his fellow Jews that running around calling everyone that disagrees with you an anti-Semite does more to cause Antisemitism than it does to stop it.

So if it makes you feel better to label me as such, then by all means feel free, I shall join the ranks of these conservative orthodox Jewish organizations which include, Satmar, Skullene, Neturei Karta, Bene Yoel, Breslov, Brisk, Hazon Ish, Toldoth Avrohom Yitzchok, Toldoth Aharon, Slonim, and many others that are against Israels policies.

But to listen to people say it is ok for one nation to use children as human shields because some other radical Islamic nation does is about as sorry and pitiful excuse as a person could imagine. With an ally like this, who needs enemies.

Why do American citizens seem to have this irresistable passion to be apologists for people trying to kill us?

You know, call me stupid. But I fail to see what one gains from these countries. Iran is a sovern country with their own assests. What do they gain by kicking ass in Isreal. They're not going to gain land. No territory. No piece of mind other then they did it. For what gain?

Isreal is the same way. Although they do detest the fact that they lost some dirt. Do they want it? No. They just want to wreck havoc in the others front yard to displease them. Again, there's nothing to gain.

These countries have nothing to gain other then prestige from other militant countries.

What's the purpose?

But hey, let's pour millions and billions into there country so that they can manufacture weapons. It makes them feel better.
