You should have gone to college since you could have gone on GI Bill and just a bit of working. Not going there may have helped you see that I was talking about the 1950s not the 1960s you talked about. I guess you took that number from your very hastily read of American Thinker. Would you have been likely to have read that article if it came from The Nation? I bet you would have.

BTW, there were nearly 35,000 Americans killed in Korea and all in just three years. The worst part of that one is that it took many years after the Vietnam Wall being constructed before a memorial was constructed for those who died in Korea. Nearly as many killed but it didn't take nearly 20 years to get it done.
Roy, this is just plain old rude and over the line.
Stop it.

Pssst. The US is not the center of the universe (even if maps produced in the US present it that way) and people can celebrate any holiday they choose.
In the USA Americans celebrate Labor Day in September. May Day originally was a communist celebration. So again I don't see any reason for it to be celebrated in the USA.

Yeah but the commies would rather run around rioting and burning stuff on May 1st.

Actually, May Day is a national holiday in Germany, and has nothing to do with politics.

Wish I were somewhere overlooking the Rhine, and enjoying a glass of Maiwein.

The suspects planned initially to try to set off an explosive on May Day, the complaint says. Baxter allegedly planned to join a May Day protest and "act as a decoy or diversion" to move the crowd and police away from the bridge, which would then be blown up.

There was a demonstration in Denver, but it doesn't look like it attracted much of a crowd:
