I think president Obama has every right to take credit for the Bin Laden raid--he is the Commander in Chief. If the operation would have went wrong; like seals killed, women and children killed and Bin Laden not captured or killed, surely he would have been criticized.
Valid point. That's what happened to Jimmy Carter when Operation Eagle Claw was a disaster, when he tried to rescue the hostages in Iran.

I like Jimmy Carter, and I'm a Democrat--but Eagle Claw (the rescue mission) was a failed enterprise, largely for reasons that weren't Carter's fault.
The ayatollah released the hostgages minutes after Reagan was inaugurated as a diss to Carter. So while Carter gets no credit for their release, neither does Reagan.
