Nothing chaps my chapter worse than being accused of being a racist, as I recently was by a troll poster. It came up in connection with the case of Zimmerman-Martin. Quoth the troll poster: "It just kills you that Zimmerman is considered white," i.e. you are a white supremacist. But it does no such thing. As far as the Zimmerman and Martin, what I see are two fellow US citizens. If Martin was shot in cold blood then I want justice served and Zimmerman locked away. If it was self-defense then I want Zimmmerman exonerated. At this point I really don't know which it is. That's why we have lawyers, trials, and judges.

But it does highlight the question, why do lefties so often falsely cry racism. I could cite dozens of examples but I will limit myself to three. Spencer Ackerman, lefty pundit is the first. In 2008 some lefty journalists were discussing how to respond to the news stories about Rev. Wright. Pick some random conservatives (Fred Barnes was his suggestion) and "call them racist" was the preferred strategy from Ackerman.
Documents show media plotting to kill stories about Rev. Jeremiah Wright | The Daily Caller

Another example is the 'top 10 racist quotes' of Rush Limbaugh. These were widely distributed on lefty blogs a couple years ago. Only one problem--a bunch of the quotes were made up. Snopes.com debunked it. Limbaugh had a great show last week where he spent over an hour answering the questions of a high school student about media and racism. Limbaugh stated that no one who knew him had ever insinuated that he was a racist. Only lefties seeking to score political points had made that insinuation.

A third example is Mary Frances Berry, who was civil rights commish under Pres. Bill Clinton. She said:

I could come up with many more examples but that's enough. Why do lefties so often falsely accuse of racism?

You have to be kidding right? False accusations are the exception not the norm buddy. Rev. Jeremiah Wright is a true American patriot and Rush Limbaugh is a fat tasteless racist who makes his money from the number of fools he can convince to listen to his garbage.

Lefties are the least racist cause 'left'-handed people use both sides of their brain more than 'right' - handed people do
: P

Seriously, it's propaganda technique number one

Propaganda: How Not to Be Bamboozled

For good or evil, propaganda pervades our daily lives, helping to shape our attitudes on a thousand subjects. Propaganda works by tricking us, by momentarily distracting the eye while the rabbit pops out from beneath the cloth. Propaganda works best with an uncritical audience. Joseph Goebbels, Propaganda Minister in Nazi Germany, once defined his work as “the conquest of the masses.” The masses would not have been conquered, however, if they had known how to challenge and to question, how to make distinctions between propaganda and reasonable argument.
People are bamboozled mainly because they don’t recognize propaganda when they see it. They need to be informed about the various devices that can be used to mislead and deceive- about the propagandist’s overflowing bag of tricks. The following, then, are some common pitfalls for the unwary.

1. Name Calling

As its title suggests, this device consists of labeling people or ideas with words of bad connotation, literally, “calling them names”. Here the propagandist tries to arouse our contempt so we will dismiss the “bad name” person or idea without examining its merits.
Bad names have played a tremendously important role in the history of the world. They have ruined reputations and ended lives, sent people to prison and to war, and just generally made us mad at each other for centuries.
Name- calling can be used against policies, practices, beliefs, and ideals, as well as against individuals, groups, races, nations. Name calling is at work when we hear a candidate for office described as a foolish “idealist” or a “two faced” liar” or when an incumbent’s policies are denounced as “reckless,” “reactionary,” or just plain “stupid.” Some of the most effective names a public figure can be called are ones that may not denote anything specific: “Congressman John Smith is a bleeding heart!” (Did he vote for funds to help paraplegics?) or “The Senator is a tool of Washington!” (Did he happen to agree with the President?) Senator Yakalot uses name calling when he denounces his opponent’s “radical policies” and calls them (and him) socialist,” “pinko,” and part of a “heartless plot.” He also uses them when hecalls small cars “puddle jumpers,” “canopeners,” and “motorized baby buggies.”
The point here is that when the propagandist uses name- calling, he doesn’t want us to think- merely to react, blindly, unquestioningly. So the best defense against being taken in by name-calling is to stop and ask, “Forgetting the bad name attached to it, what are the merits of the idea itself? What does this name really mean, anyway?

Some deeper truisms by wiser individuals to aid:

“When watching men of power in action it must be always kept in mind that, whether they know it or not, their main purpose is the elimination or neutralization of the independent individual- the independent voter, consumer, worker, owner, thinker- and that every device they employ aims at turning men into a manipulable "animated instrument" which is Aristotle's definition of a slave.”- Eric Hoffer

"Political tags-such as royalist, communist, democrat, populist, fascist, liberal, conservative, and so forth-are never basic criteria. The human race divides politically into those who want people to be controlled and those who have no such desire." -- Robert A Heinlein

“A people who mean to be their own Governors, must arm themselves with the power which knowledge gives” – James Madison 1822

“Whatever anguish of spirit it may cost, I am willing to know the whole truth; to know the worst, and to provide for it” – Patrick Henry

“The people never give up their liberties but under some illusion” – Edmund Burke

White progressives have this Atticus Finch persona; they think they are the saviors of black folks. Deep down though, progressives actually fear blacks. White progressives think that if they keep on pointing at other whites and crying, "raaaaacist", that when TSHTF they will somehow escape harm.

False accusations and moronic ideas (like 'Forward') are all they have.

Cute, aren't they!

I have heard some completely moronic statements but this one had my jaw hanging for ten minutes, then damned near dislocated it from laughing so hard.

Maybe because the right keeps opening themselves up for the accusation. You got the tea party in tennessee trying to erase slavery from history books, newt telling us to ask for paychecks not food stamps, good ole rick has to catch himself before he calls obama a nig*er, and he says he doesn't want black people taking your money. You got ron paul having racist newsletters back in the mid 90's, and so on. Other than ron paul, all those events were in the last 6 months.

Default Why do lefties so often hurl false accusations of racism?

Same reason wingnuts toss out insults like marxist, socialist, communist, muslim, Kenyan, etc.

This stuff isn't hard to figure out. Most posters on this forum come here to fight, not to analyze.
