What will the global warmers do now??? LOL

"New research finds that wind farms actually warm up the surface of the land underneath them during the night, a phenomena that could put a damper on efforts to expand wind energy as a green energy solution.
Researchers used satellite data from 2003 to 2011 to examine surface temperatures across as wide swath of west Texas, which has built four of the world's largest wind farms. The data showed a direct correlation between night-time temperatures increases of 0.72 degrees C (1.3 degrees F) and the placement of the farms."

Of course the sat data must be wrong. You know the same satellite data they use to make all their doom and gloom computer models. Can't make this stuff up folks!!!

"Zhou cautioned that his study used satellite data, which can have errors from clouds, for example, rather than temperature readings taken at the surface. He said he hopes to improve his dataset, and look at wind farms in other parts of the world."

So this scientist is saying that human activity does have an impact on the earth's temperature.

Interesting.

Sounds like a similar effect to what has happened in the subway stations in Manhattan. Now that every train is air-conditioned, the hot air that is vented out from the trains have made the stations many degrees hotter than they had been before.

I read some time ago that they believe a similar effect has happened in Phoenix and other places that until fairly recently did not rely on refrigerated air.

More human impact. Imagine that.

Anyhoo.

The only ones into denying legitimate scientific data are right wingers such as yourself.

Since you don't have any liberals denying this new, data on wind farm temps.......your are forced to make things up about them....LOL

I have no problem whatsoever with scientific facts. I hope this research is duplicated, and the conclusions peer reviewed.

Nevertheless, the wind turbines certainly are not generating heat, only mixing warmer air into the cooler surface layer.

Those huge & extensive wind farms in West Texas did us very little good for most of the terrible 2011 drought.

The wind did not blow last summer - it was too hot!.

Maybe this link would be more acceptable to more people since it is not Fox.

Wind farms may have warming effect - research | Reuters

Of course, much more study has to go into all this unlike what global warming was based on in the beginning. The whole thing makes a lot of sense but real proof is needed before we get too wild. At least they went to real big wind farms to make their test. Those things in Texas are humongous.

I thought there was no global warming

Anyway, interesting. They really need to do more tests on that. Given that wind turbines extract energy from the environment and energy does not come out of the blue, it should get cooler rather than warmer near those farms.
But then again, those wind farms are like cities, temps there are also several degrees above rural areas. Does that mean we should do away with cities?
One would have to make a detailed calculation on whether the greenhouse gases not emitted elsewhere because of the wind farms compensate for that supposed heat effect at the farms. I suppose those rotors also create strong magnetic fields

At the end of the day it confirms my view that we simply need to cut back energy consumption as a whole.

Another drawback of wind turbines is that bats die. They can easily fly through fast rotating blades, but after the blades there is a strong pressure difference that kills them

It confirms my view that global warming folks are completely insane.

That is correct. Now for all you global warming religious nuts. Windmills are heating the earth in the same vein very simple solution here. If you are afraid all you global warming morons turn the air conditioner on high and open the godmn windows! The fix is in morons!
