Just the American people should profit through improved budget or pension fund, like in Norway. You think Norway would be better off if they had a handful of men profiting from their oil reserves and not all Norwegians? Heck, we even have foreign companies drilling our oil.

Buy shares, if you do not own them already in your 401k and/or mutual funds, and quit complaining. The .gov makes quite a bit more from a gallon of gas than Exxon does. Where is THAT outrage?

Well that is because Jeff Immelt is obama's golfing buddy....can't criticize him...that would be 'racism'...wouldn't it??

Besides....wouldn't want to ruin Mr. obama's foursome.

Since when should the federal government be allowed to take 100% of the profits of a private corporations? Does the above poster forget that when drilling on public lands that permits (fees) must be paid? Why not pay some $ to the states where the drilling is occuring, why to the "feds"?

Serious question: Are you a Communist?

I agree that American resources should not be controlled by "a few people", expecially when those "few people" are in the federal government!

Of course no one should profit from their enterprise. We are all socialist peons, under the benevolent direction of Big Brother.
[sarcasm flag off]

Why not to the feds? You think states are less wasteful or something?

Does it matter what that person is? While Norway isn't comparable to USA in size and economic power, their nationalized oil program has put them in a better position than us in terms energy plan and efficiency. If it works for them then good for them.

So you don't mind foreign interests investing in our natural resources? And why wouldn't you want America's resource controlled by American government?
