And what is troubling with this situation is that the democrats are opposing this. What is the problem with a candidate having to show his original birth records to prove natural born Citizenship? What I had a problem with is what one democrat said which was this:
” It’s racial and I really don’t want to talk about it. I really don’t. It doesn't deserve to be lifted up and discussed. It really doesn't. It’s a ridiculous piece of legislation.”
This bill has absolutely nothing to do about race. Why do liberals always play the race card?
and if it passes and holds up constitutionally............
then they'll have to accept a state certified hawaiian COLB.
full faith and credit clause of the constitution.
Exactly, I have never seen any birther even attempt to address this point. As long as Hawaii states that the COLB is legit, no state will be able to challenge that even if they pass dozens of silly birther laws. The Hawaiian COLB even says this at the bottom of the document - it has a statement that says the COLB is prima facie evidence of the birth in any court proceeding.
Missouri or any other state has no standing to dispute the documents issued by another state. As long as Hawaii says that Obama was born there, that is the end of it as far as any court is concerned.
Despite the protesting of the usual suspects and their all too regular projections it is not "racist" to wish to insure the integrity of the election process.
There is little chance of this legislation making it into law because there is no way the politically ambitious Democrat Governor Jay Nixon would be willing to sign this legislation even if it did pass. It is unlikely to garner enough voted for a veto over-ride.
