Are you really impressed by that? Reminds me of that ineffectual statement about Rush's three day attack on Miss Fluke ("It's not the language I'd have chosen.").

I can't believe you're going to post those two sentences as proof of Mittens' defense of Grenell. Or is there more?

Where is his denouncement of people like Fischer, who is leading the charge against gays in a Romney administration? Hmmmmm????
what more do you want? first its, republicans hate gays, then its, well they should have given stronger support. the fact is that romney hired the person in question, and wanted him to remain on his staff. in the end however you cant force someone to stay if they dont want to stay.

so what was romney supposed to say?

If Hillary runs (and probably wins) in 2016 following Obama's win in 2012, it's hard to find a demographic path for a Republican presidency anytime in the next decades.

Oh, I don't know.

Maybe something along the line of him telling the religious right they will not dictate to him who he will or won't have working for him. And making it sound like he actually means it!

Maybe something along the line of not allowing gays or blacks or any other minority to think that the only way they will survive working in a Romney administration is to keep their mouths shut.

Maybe saying something with more conviction and force than what he did say.

But, hey! You all just keep on supporting that ineffectual and pandering fool. It makes no real difference to me because he won't be elected.

Mitt Romney said today he wanted openly gay spokesman Richard Grenell to remain on his team, as he stressed his campaign does not discriminate in its hiring.
Quote:
"He's a very accomplished spokesperson," Romney said on Fox News, in his first remarks on the Grenell controversy. "We select people not based upon their ethnicity or their sexual preference or their gender but upon their capability."
Quote:
Romney strategist Eric Fehrnstrom said in an MSNBC interview today that Romney previously has denounced the "voices of intolerance that expressed themselves during this debate" over Grenell.
all quotes from the article i linked to. again you might actually want to read the article in question before making a judgement. in the end there is only so much one can say or do about intolerance, and romney has done the things he can, but you still think it is not enough.

what would you have romney do stand on a pit of burning coals and scream at the top of this lungs that intolerance is unacceptable? chances are you give obama and the democrats a pass when they pay lip service to toning down the rhetoric, and then turn around and make accusations about the tea party and republicans that boarder on slander, but let a republican stand up against intolerance and somehow it isnt enough, they should do more.

Romney is being led around by the nose by Grover Norquist and far right extremists like the teabaggers and the religious right, like Fischer.

If he can't even stand up against people like that, do you really think he can stand up against leaders of countries who wish us harm?

Besides, what about the fact that those leaders are watching Mittens cave to these people? Do you not think they are watching this campaign? Do you not think they are paying attention to things like that and aren't rubbing their hands together and just hoping that the American voter is stupid enough to vote for a pandering, ineffectual idiot like Romney?

Talk about making their jobs easier!

Yes.

It would be a huge improvement - and much more impressive - than the wishy-washy and vague statement that he did give. Which actually was typical for wishy-washy and vague Romney.

typical liberal. take obama at his word even though you knew he was lying through his teeth, but excoriate mit romney because you think he is being soft on the subject.

As I'm sure you saw, Fischer even asked that very question himself. There is a thread in the elections forum on that very topic.
And, as I said there, it is an excellent question and one I've yet to see any sort of satisfactory response to from anyone least of all Romney.

All he can do is make snarky remarks about President Carter.
