What is going on in that state? Just yesterday, reports were everywhere on the former long time AZ GOP official and neo-nazi that murdered 4 people, including an infant, now today we have another one.
A former "Guns & ammo" magazine editor and GOP supporter that used the magazine to push anti-Obama rhetoric, has been charged with 2nd degree murder.

"The former editor of Guns & Ammo magazine was accused of murdering a friend with a gun and ammo in Golden Valley, Arizona on Wednesday.
Mohave County sheriff’s charged 53-year-old Richard Erick Venola with second-degree murder for the killing 39-year-old James Patrick O’Neill, who was found dead at the scene."

"After President Barack Obama took office in 2009, Venola used his position as editor to warn readers that they should join his “largest business competitor,” the National Rifle Association (NRA), or “those in the new administration who drool at the chance of neutering the Second Amendment will become emboldened"

It seems like every few months somewhere in the US, some gun nut finally snaps and kills someone. I have long believed that if someone crosses the line from gun owner or gun collector into full fledged gun nuttery it is really only a matter of time until they completely lose control and start shooting. Gun hoarders suffer from mental illness.

Do you have a link describing a gun collector who went berserk?

so where in the article does it say that they guy was a long time GOP official? i also dont see where it says he was a neo nazi either. it seems to me that you are again overreaching in your attempt to smear the opposition.

You didn't read my post very well. I said that gun owners and gun collectors are fine, I own a few myself. It is when someone crosses the line into gun nuttery and starts building a cache of weapons and ammo that you should start to worry about them. Every gun owner knows exactly the kind of people that I am talking about.

Did you miss the story earlier this week about JT Ready? He fits the profile perfectly - gun nut with a massive horde of weapons and ammo. He ended up killing several people including a baby.

When does a collection become a "massive hoard?"
How many guns are in a hoard?

Take the advice of one of the saner voices on the left, NYT columnist Charles Blow.

Say wasn't John Wayne Gacy an activist in the Democratic party in Illinois? Does this somehow taint all Democrats in your eyes?

You know what I am talking about, so quit acting obtuse. Everyone that shoots has met one of the camo wearing, Molon Labe freaks with 20,000 rounds of ammo in their basement. They usually annoy everyone at the range and can't shoot very well. They have a fetish for everything "tactical", some people refer to them as Mall Ninjas.

As a Democrat, I apologize for those on my side of the aisle who feel the need to politicize tragedies like these for political gain.

Everybody needs to stop pointing fingers and being vindictive, because that just makes our problems worse.
