I respect the will of the people - whether I agree with the decision or not. You do not - or you would not support the overturning of Prop 8. So it is a tad self serving for you to tout statistics that appear to show PO moving to your side. Just because you show those numbers doesn't mean that I have to place any stock in them - all you are demonstrating is a trend - trends can change. You can't make any concrete predictions from the information contained in your links.

Dude, seriously... give it a rest, and try getting back to the topic at hand. Obviously I'm not an expert on Los Angeles County, since it's almost 400 miles from my home. Are you an expert on Ohio politics, which is about the same distance from where you live? My numbers and guesses (never stated them as fact) were off, but that doesn't change the statistics which show SSM support is growing nationwide - and statewide. Proposition 8 is dead in the water, so what's their next move? I'm anxiously waiting, because I have a feeling it won't pass muster this time.

Oh yeah, and you conveniently ignored where I pointed out that you cut off my sentence. It originally said "I forgot HOW MUCH of LA County was conservative" - do you see the difference there? Not to mention, the Obama election saw a huge rise in formerly Republican voters going Dem for that one election. I guess they were either disenchanted by the Bush years, or just really really hated the McCain/Palin ticket... plus he appealed to the minority communities, and the fence-sitters who could go either way. So the fact that 88% voted for Obama doesn't mean 88% identify as liberal or Democrat.

It's "dead in the water" because of one vote that gave the metaphorical finger to 7,000,000 Californians. Lawlessness from the bench killed Prop 8 - not democracy.

32 states have already changed their constitutions to declare marriage as being only between a man and woman. More will follow. That tells the real story. The Fed can't force this perversion on the people.

Those are some of the facts that allow me to take gizmos statistics with a grain of salt.

Why do you keep calling them MY statistics? It's not like I made them up, I'm only presenting you with the facts as gathered by official poll-takers. Unlike you, I won't stare at a nationwide poll from a reliable source and call it BS... if you can counter these statistics, by all means do it already. Btw, how many of those 32 states put it to a public vote? And how many of those states are run by Republicans vs Democrats?

As I said earlier, the disparities are probably caused by voter turnout - with older and more conservative voters historically turning out in higher numbers, you're not getting a complete picture of America's overall opinion on the matter. Just wait, things will even out in time.

Very interesting that you are distancing yourself from the very statistics that you originally posted - I don't think they are radioactive - but it makes me even more suspicious now that I think about your continual harping on a casual use of words on my part.

How is the court system overturning an unconstitutional ban equivalent to "lawlessness?" I don't know much about the legal system, I admit, but that doesn't seem like they're breaking any laws to me. Is this the FIRST time a court has overturned the people's decision, and is this something they aren't allowed to do? I'm glad they gave you all the proverbial finger, and I'd do it myself if I could. Actually did do that once, when I walked past an anti-SSM protest in San Jose.

I'll never understand why people care so much what other people do with their lives and who they want to marry.

Just because Injustice Vaughn said that it is unconstitutional doesn't mean that it is - it was his opinion and it was a biased one. Once this case works its way through the courts and if his ruling is upheld - then you can claim factually that it is unconstitutional. In the meantime the fact is that one gay judge dismissed the people's will in California.
