You've got posters in this very thread saying that gay men are pedophiles and you think that comment was "one of the most hateful posts I've read on these boards"?

Wow.

It's the same with the epidemic of homosexual molestation of children in public schools, it's just not as widely reported.
You need to look to heterosexual men for sexual abuse of children long before you look at homosexual men.

The way it was explained by one priest on Catholic Radio is "gay marriage" is like saying you have a round rectangle. It's just not possible.

Marriage unites one man and one woman because it is possible for them to bring life into the world from themselves. Marriage brings new life into the world, that is the meaning of marriage. That was the meaning from the beginning, otherwise we don't need marriages.

Even if the couple is found to be infertile their bodies are capable of reproducing and it is still a possibility. It's never a possibility for 2 men or 2 women to unite and have a baby.

Having children is not a requirement on a civil marriage licence.

But the figures below blow your 'argument' out of the water amyway...

According to the 2000 census:

45.6 percent of married heterosexual partners were raising children
43.1 percent of unmarried heterosexual partners were raising children

34.3 percent of lesbian couples were raising children
22.3 percent of male gay couples were raising children

Similar figures from the 2010 census:

BUT I don't think any of those children came to be from the uniting of their 2 mothers or 2 fathers from sexual relations. If they did that would be a huge scientific breakthrough.

Maybe some day but not yet.

Or teachers or camp counselors or coaches or step parents or bio parents, etc, etc, etc.

Of course the question then becomes:WHY? Because i sure as hell don't know. High standards and the Catholic Church aren't exactly potentially inclusive.
The church follows Jesus standards and that is the hightest standard ever. Do they achieve it? No, but they try each day. Humans can't be perfect, we are all sinners.

BUT I agree with you, those who are in a higher office are expected to act better. It is worse and they do need to answer more when they fail. That is on them though.
