Look at the hi-res photo's and you will see ...

Those photos have been pretty damning. The guy that was displaying them and "theories" had to head to MX.
Nasty stuff.

There is radiation and radioactive substances leaking from the damaged reactors but this is not the end of the world or even the end of Northern Japan. Steps will be taken as soon as the immediate (10 meters or so) area of the leaking reactor cools down below lethal levels. Then the reactor will be encased or cut up and buried somewhere.

This is one incident in a long history of safe operation of nuclear electric power. Chernobyl was a massive operating error that was the result of some boneheaded fool. These are the only incidents where anyone was injured let alone killed. We should not let these keep us from pursuing nuclear power as no other source has the capability of providing the concentrated quantities of energy with the potential for creating more fuel than it consumes.

These reactors, when combined with full fuel recycle are mankind’s’ perpetual power machine that can provide the heat to waste carbon into petroleum substitute and well as provide electricity and district heat at the same time. We should not let a couple of “accidents” frighten us away from a technology that offers a first world high energy life style to everyone on the planet. We have learned how to properly plan, design build and operate a safe nuclear power industry. Now we have to get back on track and build it.
I agree with you mostly, but why in Gods name would you build one of these things in the earthquake capitol of the world and right next to the ocean? Doesn't make any sense to me.

People are scared of nukes. How scared are we of cars? Cars kill 1.2 million people every year, world wide. Did you know....if you couldn't trust literally 99.9999999 percent of all drives to pay attention and follow the rules, you'd be an idiot to drive a car on the highway.

Even more interesting is a link from that article that discusses the radiation levels in US milk supply. We got fallout from Japan....not sure what we can do about it...

Really. Are you just as angry at coal companies? You ever hear of mountain top removal coal mining? Mountaintop removal coal mining, often described as "strip mining on steroids," is an extremely destructive form of mining that is devastating Appalachia. In the past few decades, over 2,000 miles of streams and headwaters that provide drinking water for millions of Americans have been permanently buried and destroyed No fear mongering threads on that, though. And that's in America.
Fukushima is bad, but you have to look at it relative to all the other bad things. Being eaten by a shark is bad. That's why I don't swim in the ocean. That, plus sand in my ass. And the water is full of eggs and fish poo. And those little crabs are creepy. Seriously though, the amount of radiation that's gonna hit the US is basically nil. You're more likely to die from a car accident. I feel sorry for the Japanese people, though. I really do.

End of the world for humans as cancer rates sky rocket, food supplies become radiated. This is no joke. This isn't something you just sweep under the rug. The Russians had the balls to cement Chernobyl so it wouldn't spread. The Japanese need to cowboy up and seal this damn thing off. Cost is not an issue. I don't care if this costs trillions. The entire planet including the world's oceans and the west coast of the US is threatened. People say oh we'll just move south of the equator. Yeah right. Americans flooding into Mexico to get to SA? Like SA is just going to take us all in? Gimme a break. Our government are a bunch of limp wristed slack jawed frakkets. And no bigger one than Obummer. Talking about gay marriage while this mess is spewing massive amounts of radiation into the air and ocean. Pathetic.

You are totally right. Could not express my own thoughts better.
