That's a contradiction. Recognizing gay rights is an expansion of government. If Republicans were true to their amusingly ironic slogan of small government, they'd get the government out of the marriage business altogether.

To whomever left me the anonymous rep, homosexuality may be a "sin" according to your religion, but so are many other things according to the Bible, and yet they are cherry-picked to suit the picker. Moot point.

No, but liberals tend to be younger, and younger people are more apathetic to voting.

A more meaningful poll is the one which shows that a 25% of indepedents are more likely to not for Obama as a result of his support for gay marriage. This issue is a losing one and the GOP would be wise to stay the course.
I tried to rep you, but it wouldn't let me. That's what people don't understand polls are meaningless. A lot of people say they support gay marriage because they don't want to look intolerant or because that's the in thing to do, you know Hollywood says its cool. But when they get in that voting booth by themselves it's a different story.

You should take stats and probability. It's very interesting how those facts are overcome.

Which "Hollywood" would you be talking about? Hollywood is notoriously anti-gay. That would be why it's extremely rare for an openly gay person to ever get a leading role in a movie or TV show.

What people tell pollsters on the phone is different than what they do in the voting booth.

It's easy to say yes when nothing will change by so saying.

In PC liberal California, the hope it to not offend.

Once the curtains are closed in the voting booth people express their true feelings.

Perhaps we should weight polls to account for this very predicable apathy.
