I agree, but it's not going to happen anytime soon. The only alternative is equal rights.

Republicans can't come out as indifferent to gay marriage for the same reason they can't seriously come out for Ayn Rand: the moron vote of the party is too important.

Republicans overwhelmingly support citizen's rights to have the freedom to live without excessive interference of the regulatory force of government....until they begin speaking.

That would be because old, white, conservative bigots are more likely to go out and vote. California has an extremely large Conservative population.

You're wrong: I'm a libertarian nutjob.

To quote Barry Goldwater, who was considered "right wing" in his time:

Quote:
"The big thing is to make this country, along with every other country in the world with a few exceptions, quit discriminating against people just because they're gay," Goldwater asserts. "You don't have to agree with it, but they have a constitutional right to be gay. And that's what brings me into it."
For all you repubs yah should read some about ole Barry, he was way ahead of his time.

It's not just this that bothers me, it's also all the stupid and childish name calling that goes on here. Conservatives calling liberal people "*******s", liberals calling conservatives backwards and out-dated. Saying that people who are against same sex marriage are hateful bigots like with Fiyero saying I hate gays with a passion. Well, guess what, I've seen you say hateful things about Christians and conservatives, so shut up. It seems to be the liberals who bash conservative ideals and justify their ways by saying conservatives do the same by blindly following the Bible. The same goes with Republicans calling Obama a Muslim socialist or whatever. It's like a bunch of immature school children who do nothing but bicker at one another and can't even communicate properly. You are all grown adults here but don't act like it. We all have different viewpoints, grow the f**k up and realize that.
