This is a very good piece by Campbell Brown, NO conservative here.

She hits it right on money.

I often wonder if people actually listen and hear to what obama is saying. His speeches are basically the same tired, worn catch phrases, straw men, fence straddling and above the fray nonsense we have come to expect.

The women I know who are struggling in this economy couldn’t be further from the fictional character of Julia, presented in Mr. Obama’s Web ad, “The Life of Julia,” a silly and embarrassing caricature based on the assumption that women look to government at every meaningful phase of their lives for help.
I wonder if the person(s) who thought of the ridiculous government-dependent Julia had any idea the ridicule and scorn that would be heaped from both sides of the aisle.

I wonder if they still have a job....because the life of Julia has given Romney a ton of fodder against obama.

Quote:
But the promise of his campaign four years ago has given way to something else — a failure to connect with tens of millions of Americans, many of them women, who feel economic opportunity is gone and are losing hope. In an effort to win them back, Mr. Obama is trying too hard. He’s employing a tone that can come across as grating and even condescending.
What's bad for obama is that I believe most women see right through all his "words" to the underlying insult.

I agree but his team is targeting woman who are like this and want to be taken care of. Think of the welfare mom who keeps making babies. Heck I know one girl who's mom was on welfare, now the moms three kids are on welfare. The one daughter has one kid but I guarantee that the min she even detects that she will have to work she will have another if not before then. There are woman like this and who the ad was meant for. Why do you think it was done in a cartoon.

True, we know he is mostly talking to the dependent class of supporters, but other people, normal, hard working people that don't depend on government at all won't like the implications of Julia...it fits perfectly into Romney's characterization of obama's government-centered society.

But the way he frames the war on women is a loser in my opinion. We've already seen his polls numbers take a dive in the gender gap.

Yes, indeed, and look at how many women right here defended and identified with Julia.

If women don't want to vote for him that's fine. I will vote for him because I feel he will take care of women more than Romney will. Romney could care less about women. I'm sick and tired that we are even in this discussion. Bottom line is that dems are listening to us whereas repub are not.

Sorry, I have no links. I am a political junkie who reads and listens to everything. I could find links if you want. Vote for Romney if you if want. I won't. I could care less about the economy at this point. I do feel women's rights are in danger and that is my main concern

Well then you have nothing but empty Liberal talking points sorry.
Oh and to add the Liberals used the deaths of military soldiers up until the day obama was elected and then they cared so much about their deaths they eliminated the death counters

I have trouble taking this seriously when 75% of women will most likely vote for Obama. The only women who vote republican are those who love Jesus more than their own civil rights. Silly people voting against their own interests!
