Oh, interesting. Then is that why Florida and Texas are #3 and #4? Or do your cynical and bitter complaints only apply when we're talking about more liberal states?

The first place to start is to enforce Proposition 187, which was passed by the voters way back in 1994. This measure denies public assistence to illegal aliens. It is NOT unconstitutional, despite claims to the contrary. Enforce it and the state saves an estimated 10 billion dollars a year, plus there would be large scale self deportation of the illegals.

These states balance their budget which is not an easy thing to do. You would think CA would do the same.

California's debt to GDP ratio is lower than that of the US as a whole.

In fact California would benefit from seceding.

Tell that to the liberals/democrats who want to tax the populace into poverty. Why do you think people are leaving the state for ones that are tax/business friendly?

Well exactly, even AFTER the board reported the warning to the state that the train was no longer feasible and would cost BILLIONS more than planned, Brownie still wants to go ahead with the project.

So the democrat politicians in charge of the state are breaking the law by allowing illegals all kinds of taxpayer state assistance?

It's too bad some posters have no regard for reality or the truth.

Cynical and bitter? No, factual and pragmatic is more like it, as well as deep concern for the state that has been my home since age 6. To deny that California has serious problems that have no quick easy solution is childish and irresponsible.

187 is nonsense another baloney bill. we never gave assistance to illegals, u gave the kids check to the parent and let the parent live with the kid in section 8. the kid is american born, anchor baby. even if we did try to block giving the money to the parent u would lose in court bek mom and kid should be together.
