The arguments against Pres. Obama's accomplishments have to be put in the proper context: They are made by two time Bush voters who think George W. Bush was a good President.

One needs to properly frame the viewpoint of the naysayers. Considering the smoking wreckage Pres. Obama inherited, he has been well above average thus far. By comparison to the previous President, he has been exceptional. I look forward to his second term in the White House.

He's not the best. He's not perfect. But to say he's done "nothing." is just being obtuse for the sake of making arguments based on emotion, when it's pretty obvious he's accomplished some major things.

1. Passed Health Care Reform: After five presidents over a century failed to create universal health insurance, signed the Affordable Care Act (2010). It will cover 32 million uninsured Americans beginning in 2014 and mandates a suite of experimental measures to cut health care cost growth, the number one cause of America’s long-term fiscal problems.
2. Passed the Stimulus: Signed $787 billion American Recovery and Reinvestment Act in 2009 to spur economic growth amid greatest recession since the Great Depression. Weeks after stimulus went into effect, unemployment claims began to subside. Twelve months later, the private sector began producing more jobs than it was losing, and it has continued to do so for twenty-three straight months, creating a total of nearly 3.7 million new private-sector jobs.
3. Passed Wall Street Reform: Signed the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (2010) to re-regulate the financial sector after its practices caused the Great Recession. The new law tightens capital requirements on large banks and other financial institutions, requires derivatives to be sold on clearinghouses and exchanges, mandates that large banks provide “living wills” to avoid chaotic bankruptcies, limits their ability to trade with customers’ money for their own profit, and creates the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (now headed by Richard Cordray) to crack down on abusive lending products and companies.
4. Ended the War in Iraq: Ordered all U.S. military forces out of the country. Last troops left on December 18, 2011.
5. Began Drawdown of War in Afghanistan: From a peak of 101,000 troops in June 2011, U.S. forces are now down to 91,000, with 23,000 slated to leave by the end of summer 2012. According to Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta, the combat mission there will be over by next year.
6. Eliminated Osama bin laden: In 2011, ordered special forces raid of secret compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, in which the terrorist leader was killed and a trove of al-Qaeda documents was discovered.

read the other 44 things at
The Washington Monthly - The Magazine - Obama’s Top 50 Accomplishments

and then argue that he's done..... zip.

The first three are reasons he should be voted out and the second three he had little or nothing to do with.

And you illustrate the mindset of the typical liberal - who knowing that they have no defensible position and thus cannot compete in a debate on the issues with a conservative, resort to cheap ad hominem attacks such as calling conservatives "brainwashed". If your position is so strong - then defend it. Tell me what President Obama has done that you consider good, and explain why. Making juvenile remarks may make you feel better, but does very little to advance any intelligent political discourse.

Not true. Barry cannot lead. He lies. He covers up. He deceives. He's got to be the biggest coward I've ever seen in the White House. Leaders don't do that; they practice honesty. All this deceiver-in-chief has actually done is divide the nation further, cripple the private sector, weaken our security, and put us deeper into debt. We haven't recovered from whatever it was he inherited three and a half years ago. No wonder people can't trust politicians.

1: passed health care reform; that 61% of americans dont want.

2: passed the stimulus; that did virtually NOTHING except pay back supporters of obamas campaign.

3: passed wall street reform: yeah theres a good one. it does nothing but allow the government to take over financial institutions almost at a whim if regulators decide the institution is in trouble. it also adds onerous regulations and MORE fees to what the banks can charge.

4: ended the war in iraq; they just wont say that obama is using bushs timeline to do it.

5: began the draw down in afghanistan; considering that obama was the one that ADDED troops in the first place, and then not enough, and is still using bushs timeline there as well i guess means nothing.

6: eliminated bin laden; considering the amount of time and energy that the bush administration devoted to effort, and considering everything that was in place already, all obama had to do was give the order to go when we found out where in pakistan that bin laden was hiding.

7: turned around the auto industry; after stealing gm and chrysler from their rightful owners and screwing the bond holders out of virtually everything, and gm is still operating on the same management style that got them into trouble in the first place.

the article is a load of rubbish. obama is taking credit where credit is not due. we didnt take out gadafi, the people did. and we didnt even lead the campaign against gadafis military assets, the europeans did, we just lent support to the effort.

The Healthcare bill isn't Universal Healthcare. It's as Corporate a health care bill as there can be and we needed a Public Option...

Hell, I'm just happy to have a President that could put a grammatically correct sentence together. The bar was set pretty low in the prior administration.

Seems you're way off with that 61%

47% oppose;
http://m.cbsnews.com/fullstory.rbml?...3&videofeed=39

About 50% in Kentucky support it;
Poll Shows Kentuckians Support Universal Healthcare, But Not Federal Healthcare Law

Ohio and Fla. 51% oppose, Penn 46% oppose,

Presidential Swing States (FL, OH & PA) Poll * May 3, 2012 * Romney Bounces Back In Two Of - Quinnipiac University – Hamden, Connecticut

Of course, when a poll asks is you support the elements of ACA it has overwhelming support, but support falls off if they ask about ACA.

Kaiser Health Tracking Poll -- April 2012 - Kaiser Family Foundation

I like it, this April was the first time in forever that my health insurance premiums didn't rise.
