So progressives, what's with the hypocrisy? Why aren't the streets filled daily with thousands of you protesting these things, like a few years ago?

LOL. the answer to this question is that War for progressives is a political tool to use against conservatives in AMERICA.

There is no protest against one of thiers doing something that would generate outrage if a conservative were doing the same thing because their issue is not war and killing. It isnt even the killing of innocents in other countries.

Their issue is political control of the American government.
Outrage and Protests are simply tools to achieve that end.

I dont think its a partisan issue.
I see bloodthirsty nutbags on both sides of the spectrum endorsing these attacks.

Drone wars

SFW! I believe a WAR has been declared on our country and on us and how we live. This war is being perpetrated by a dispersed group of fanatics that are dedicated to their cause. Because of the nature of their religion these organizations are not hierarchical so just killing one supreme leader does not stop the rest. This is more like fighting the Hydra than a snake.

We may have helped create the situation that gives these people legitimacy in their own culture because we have worked very hard to crush any democratic insurgencies in most of their countries. Many of these regimes did not discriminate when they attacked their enemies any more than al-Qaida discriminates with it bomb attacks against civilian targets. IMHO they deserve to be hunted down by any means and destroyed just as we would destroy any other dangerous vermin. I do not mean to dehumanize these people by calling them vermin. Being human they are the most dangerous vermin and the most difficult to hunt but as they insist on face to face meetings due to mutual distrust one of the easiest to kill using the appropriate technology.

I believe we should be using human intelligence (although given the publicity hound nature of our Intelligence Agencies we might be better off leaving this to the Brits) as well as electronic surveillance to locate these meetings and send a ton or so of explosives as an uninvited guest. Killing individual or small groups of fanatics is far closer to murder than most warfare because we know exactly who we are destroying whereas old fashioned mass warfare did not involve individual vendettas. There may be some collateral casualties’ when using drones and smart bombs but the numbers are far less than carpet bombing a town to kill one person. In any case I support the people doing the hunting and the people pulling the triggers.

I do not know when this “Forever War” might end. I am certain it will continue so long as the Muslim world is dominated by rapacious families acting under the guise of government. The Saudi Royal family is a prime example. They steal the oil revenues and spend very little raising their own population out of feudal poverty. Although they too are targets for the terrorists they are not our friends and we should not be protecting them. I believe we should be helping the Iranians in their conflict with the Saudis. We and Iran have common enemies and should be allies in the War on Terrorists instead of possible antagonists.

As General Sherman said, “War is Hell”. It is far better to rain hell on your enemies than on yourself or your potential allies. Striking Al-Qaida where and when they gather is an excellent tactic but I have not seen anything that looks like a strategy in our waging of this war. I do not know if this war between the feudal East and the Republics of the West will ever end. In any case we must not let this war bankrupt us before we destroy the enemie’s desire to continue fighting.

Why would I be outraged, when by using drones we can do the same job as sending in people, at least in some situations, and no Americans have to go into harms way, sounds like an excellent tactic to me.

Unlike some here, I do not try to answer for others. I will say that some progressives might be against it, and guess what, some conservatives might also be against it.

unless you consider yourself to be the only o-bot on C-D, your non-answer to my question makes no sense.

So are you saying that the streets are filled with anti-war protestors, and anywhere near the level we saw just a few short years ago? I'll wait for your answer.

There is no outrage because unlike the Bush way to kill terrorist, sacrificing thousands of American soldiers for 1 man, Obama is doing it the way it should have always been done.
