To a socialist left wing person I am sure he would be considered obnoxious.
He seems to talk about the same things that were valuable to Americans all through history. Things like freedom, small government, personal independence and liberty.
I think the top three conservative broadcasters have more listeners than almost all the liberal broadcasters. That means there is a market for listening to a conservative view and that you can't get any takers to listen to liberals on radio.
It is talent, being on the correct side of issues and attracting an audience that patronizes sponsors.

I used to listen often maybe ten years ago. I already know what he is going to say with the exception of his brilliant insight into Democrat behavior on a daily basis. It's a gift between his observations and ability to communicate it to tens of millions of people.
