It's not unusual for the libs in Nebraska to use the mentaly disturbed and homeless to meet their agenda.

They have been caught at it in the past, but of course, not much is done about it. It is becoming pretty well known that they will stoop to any level to further their cause while using those least capable of defending themselves. It's sickening.

Incidentally, all phobias tend to be mental problems... Thus, I don't think your conclusion that calling a phobia a mental issue is a way to silence dissent is valid. It amounts to merely stating a fact.

I'm a Nebraskan, and the leadership of both parties here are pretty common sense and moderate/main street oriented conservative. Where are you from, because I'm guessing it's not here.

The poor woman is mentally ill--they politely let her talk at the hearing for her allotted time, and then the council went on to support the protections for gay public workers by a unanimous vote (two abstaining).

I think the point the OP was trying to make in posting this was to say that she wasn't a radical rabid conservative spouting off--she's just a very sick, delusional person. How you can twist this to say otherwise is completely beyond me.

Probably no more so than gays might.

I am from Nebraska too and the antics of busing people from homeless shelters and telling them which boxes to check etc is shameless. This stinks of the same tactics.

Trying to bring legislation to charge someone as a sex criminal for kissing someone without having permission? We used to have common sense but some of this is ridiculous.

LB797 (the kissing bill) didn't even get a committee hearing--it was dead on arrival. People introduce dumb bills all the time in every state, and most of them go nowhere. As far as Forward Omaha picking up people (homeless or not) from the North end of Omaha to vote--it doesn't look like they did anything illegal, and every US citizen has a right to vote. I'm not from the Omaha area but I do read the World Herald from time to time, and they were running voter transportation services for lots of people without cars from those inner city north Omaha neighborhoods. I'm not a democrat, so I may not be crazy about HOW they vote, but they have as much of a right to go to the polls as I do.

I'm confused why you think this thread is some kind of liberal attack--like I said--liberals have been using this woman as an example of radical conservative nuts. As the OP showed, she's not a radical conservative--she's a delusional schizophrenic. She has nothing to do with the conservatives. That was the point that the OP was trying to make.
