Top-ranking Democrat James Clyburn — and 54% of African-Americans — agree with Obama on marriage equality.
Rep. James Clyburn said
Quote:
"In my lifetime it was illegal in some states — this state one of them — for black and white couples to get married,” Clyburn said to MSNBC. "Sometimes it takes the federal government to step into the breach to resolve many of these issues. It certainly did that through the courts with the marriage question and it also did the same thing when it comes to whether people of color have the same rights that white people have."

Another Democrat who speaks before he thinks:

But the South Carolina Democrat did not explain how such a national policy might be enacted and what route he’d advocate to reach his goal.
Any idiot can complain, we see that all the time.....

This is not a jurisdiction of the federal government. Many states have already put this to a vote. If the OP does not like the decision of his/her state, move to one which better suits you. It really is that simple.

The states should not be left to decide issues of equality by popular vote. Have a problem with it? Take it up with our political forefathers.

Heck no Im not moving from NC, that is what the bigots of this state want -out of state out of mind for them.
I grew up a here and will die here and will continue the fight for equality.

Point of the article in the OP was interracial marriage was once banned and once the SCOTUS declares this is 14th amendment violation. Everyone can love & be happy isnt that the point of life and not hate & equality for all that is what the founding fathers wanted.

Well, the citizens of your state voted the politicians in who passed this.

Get together with your progressive liberal friends and vote them out of office and repeal the law, *simple*

Good for you.

Only a small minded fool would request that you move out of your own home, to accomodate the bigots.
