The earth is not going to last forever.

The sun is about halfway through its life. Someday (roughly 4.5 billion years) it will swallow the earth, and consume it.

Humans (or what will pass for humans, should we make it another 4 billion years as a species) will indeed have to find another home someday if they wish to survive. But not by 2030.

I guess it's not just the earth warming anymore we are completely destroying the old girl.

I suggest they kick off the mass suicides to save the planet.

"Planet Earth in a tight spot.
Mankind is draining the earth's resources so quickly the globe would be bled dry before the end of the century at this rate, a new report shows.
Humans are living outside their means, depleting natural resources like forests, air and water 50% faster than the planet can renew, according to the 2012 World Wildlife Fund's "Living Planet Report" released this month.
If the trends aren't reversed, by 2030 we’d need more than two Planet Earths to sustain human activity, according to the study."

Oh this report was put together for the meeting of the green weenie club in Rio so they can come up with other ways to try and steal money from developing nations as it appears global warming is petering out.
The truth really bothers you for some reason, care to explain why it does.

Best get on the old telescope and find a planet to lasso and pull er back next to us by 2030 there ghost. If not we are all doomed. Just like we were doomed how many times in the past based on the nonsense spewed by green weenies? Florida was supposed to be underwater by now wasn't it?

earth will be unable to support life well before the sun goes supernova. maybe 1 billion years. remember, the sun is warming up as it ages, and the earth too hot to sustain surface water in around 1 billion years.

not sure where you're getting that. even going by the most liberal projections from the IPCC it will take thousands of years for the polar ice sheets to completely disintegrate.

Nope we are not doomed, we adapt our way of life, you have heard of adapting haven't ya? If the world ends up consuming as we do today and the day is getting closer and closer and we consume more and more, something will have to give, like it or not. The steps we take today will set the foundation for future generations to build upon, if we do apsolutely nothing, I assume that is your suggestion, then yes, we are doomed in the long run. Keep in mind that the reality of the situation does not require that we believe in it to be true, by ignoring it we only hasten the day we have to pay the piper.
