Good work Illinois. Your state is already on the path of fiscal destruction rivaling California. I guess now more kids won't be able to find jobs if this goes through so they'll have more time to run wild shooting each other in Chicago.

"Lathan Cole, 29, of Springfield, said he has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and worked with disabled people at a nonprofit, until he was laid off two years ago during the state’s budget crisis. He now works in a diner for $8.25 an hour.

“I can’t pay my car payment, so my grandfather helps me with that. Sometimes I have to ask my grandmother for gas money,” he said. “I can’t afford to go out to eat. That’s a leisure thing, and that’s not my qualm. It’s that I can’t even meet my bare minimum. It’s really hard.”

Looks like an obamabot living off the taxpayer teet just like his orator did now waiting tables with a wasted degree. See what hope and change does for folks.

I don't think you'll find many "low income earners" on this board. As a matter of fact according to the bls last year only 5% of earners make min wage and of those approx 50% work in the industry where your new hero does which he also forgot to mention he earns tips too unless he's so worthless the only tip he gets from folks is who to bet on in the 3rd race at Hawthorne.

In fact your new buddy is one of the 2% who hold a college degree according to him and earn the min wage according to bls statistics. A progressive hero is born.

Massachusetts has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the country yet we've had one of the highest min wage and generous welfare for the poor. I got nearly free healthcare for 2 years. Massachusetts is superior and the rest of the country should learn from us
