Are you offended by young black men using the n-word all the time too? Like in rap music. The hip hop culture basically encourages young black people to use a word that's considered offensive.
I don't like rap but I can relate to the struggle but that's not a fair comparison
I’m going to have to agree with Calipopy 100%. Blackface is offense and no matter what you try to say to justify the actions black folks aren’t going to have it. It is really ignorant to wonder why blacks are offended knowing the history behind blackface.
BUT HE DIDN'T DO BLACKFACE. Did you bother to read the previous post describing what blackface is.?
THAT IS THE POINT.
I can't see where it is offensive. America didn't seem to mind during the days of Al Jolson. Just recently there was a movie with Robert Downy Jr who put on the black face. Actually it was perfectly constitutional what that kid did. He practiced freedom of expression. I hope you respect the constitution.
Now think to yourself. Did all Americans not mind during the days of Al Jolson or did White Americans not mind during the days of Al Jolson. Regarding your screen shot Tropic Thunder was a stupid movie and it was controversial during the time of its release for simply the same reason.

As someone who already knows what blackface is I’m not going to use a post’s definition as gospel. I know it started out as white people mocking people of African decent in minstrel shows. A also know that the use of blackface has evolved over the years to include many other venues.

I guess next some of you are going to claim this kid is actually the Grand Wizard of the KKK.
Yes. I do not allow the use of the N-word in my home and I let those who use it in my presence that it is offensive to me and ask them to refrain from using it in my presence.
That's mighty tolerant of you! How come you don't extend that same tolerance to white folk that intend no harm? Even if a white mocked you, it is a reflection on them, not of you. You can stand down now, slaves were set free in this country many years ago. You have no reason to continue with this angry black woman charade.
imo the Chinese have more to begrude. They had to work in the mines and build the railroad, backbreaking work. The japanese were rounded up and put in camps. It's history, the pendulum has swung, you can move forward too.
