The honorable James Manning delivers a very emotional and strong message, unfortunately most African Americans don't want to hear the truth but if there were more people like Pastor Manning, we would be better off as a society, BRAVO!
Seems you like to look away, rather than deal with the problems.... very sad indeed especially given you are a Dem voter.... you guys say you care about the black community.... I guess words and empty promises are the cure right?
I agree with a lot of what he says, but THE WAY HE SAYS IT comes out wrong. But yes, we have reached the point where the social ills of blacks can be traced more to contemporary black culture than racism...and no, I AM NOT DENYING THAT RACISM ISN'T ALIVE AND WELL IN AMERCA. Yes, there is bigotry out there and yes, it is tough being a person of color. But still, racism doesn't make black men have babies out of wedlock and abandon them. Racism isn't making blacks quit school. And I don't see white cops holding blacks down and using a set of bellows to force them to smoke crack.
I think Aaron McGruder put it best in the INFAMOUS episode of "The Boondocks", when Martin Luther King appears in the modern age:
Does the same go for the Black males in your family? Do you have the gumption to say it to their face???
